As defined in MonoBehaviour.OnApplicationFocus the Application.focusChanged delegate gets called when the Game view loses/gains focus in the Editor.

Testing this suggestion doesn't seem to do anything but your mileage may vary:

To minimize the number of times OnApplicationFocus is called when the Editor is in Play mode, and you are using the rest of the Editor, drag the Game view into a floating window.
