Papyrus is an open-source, cross-platform application for reading and managing books. The goal is to provide one place for both digital and physical collections, with an integrated reader, flexible organization, annotations, goals, reading progress tracking, statistics, synchronization across devices and much more.

The project is built around an offline-first and privacy-oriented approach. It can be used locally without an account, while optional synchronization and self-hosting give users more control over where their books and data are stored. Papyrus is intended to work across desktop, mobile, and web rather than tying a library to a single platform or ecosystem. Papyrus is an independent open-source project developed in my spare time. Sponsorship is entirely optional, but it helps support the time and ongoing work involved in developing new features, fixing issues, testing across platforms, maintaining the supporting services and documentation, and generally keeping the project moving forward.
