A simple VST/AU host for OS X, Windows, and Linux that sits in the menu/task bar.
Note: This fork has been updated to build on modern Windows 11 with Visual Studio 2026 and JUCE 8, since the original project targeted Visual Studio 2015 and JUCE 4 (~2016). Deprecated JUCE APIs (
ScopedPointer, oldAudioProcessorGraphnode/connection methods, etc.) were updated to their modern equivalents. Functionality and behavior are unchanged — this is purely a toolchain/compatibility update. VST3 plugin hosting is supported; VST2 support was dropped since Steinberg discontinued the VST2 SDK in 2018.
- Requires JUCE 8 and Visual Studio 2022 or newer.
- Open
LightHost.jucerin the Projucer, set your JUCE module paths, and generate a Visual Studio exporter. - Build with the Visual Studio IDE.
