Playback speed is not reset when syncing funscripts from Kodi (causes immediate desync)

If the global playback speed isn’t at 100%, funscripts from Kodi immediately go out of sync.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Set the global playback speed to something other than 100% (like 25% or 50%).
2. Start a video from Kodi that syncs a funscript with Howl.
3. Play the video or seek to a different point in Kodi.

Current Behavior: Howl jumps the funscript to the right position, but it keeps playing at the global playback speed set earlier. So it instantly falls out of sync with the video.

Expected Behavior: When Kodi sends a position update, Howl should automatically reset to 100% speed. Ideally just for that Kodi session without changing the global setting. Custom speeds are fine for normal use, but not when syncing with video.

Note: It’s really easy to forget you changed the playback speed earlier, which makes this happen a lot.

I don't really consider that a bug, since it is playing at the speed the user set, and they might not be using 1x speed in Kodi.

However it would be more elegant if the playback speed was automatically set to match Kodi. That would be a nice enhancement.

Agreed. I hadn't thought about them having Kodi at a non default speed. I actually didn't even know you could change it as you need "Sync playback to display" set to on.

After looking at it, the only speed you could sync right now in Howl is either 100% or 150% as Howl only allows speed adjustments in 25% increments (0.25 to 4.0) and Kodi seems to use 10% increments (0.8 to 1.5). So you would also need to adjust Howl to allow more speed adjustments first. A first great step would be to just send the current playback speed to Howl. If Kodi is running at 100% or 150%, then it syncs correctly. If they are at a different speed it wouldn't playback correctly, but there is no way to get it to sync right now anyway. I could see how some scenes would be nice at a different speed.

We can set any playback speed programmatically, it doesn't have to align with the increments on the slider. I just picked those increments for the user setting because they align more optimally with the pulses we have if somebody is recording from an HWL file and also changing the speed (which is probably not a very common use case anyway).
