Closing in favor of #164, which consolidates the roadmap into a single source of truth: the full roadmap (release status through 4.7.x + the v5.0.0 themes from this PR's text) now lives in docs/roadmap.rst, with a root ROADMAP.md stub pointing at it. This PR's content was folded into that page rather than maintained as a second full document — including the .gitignore fix for the case-insensitive Roadmap.md entry, which #164 also carries. |

ROADMAP.mdat the repo root covering the five v5 themes (precision, EU locales, leaner package, pipeline embeddability, vault-friendly anonymization) and the scan/redact/protect API direction, and removes the staleRoadmap.mdgitignore entry (no such private file exists).
