Maxime Jean · My application to Dust

View the application portfolio website

I’d like to help Dust’s customers put AI to work in their teams. I’m applying for the Founding Customer Success Manager role in London. This page brings together my enterprise account experience and the tools I build for myself and my teams.

I joined Arches, a B2B expert network, as employee #1 in Asia. I built operations, then sales and account management. Today, I lead our US business and Colombian entity. Alongside that work, I build AI workflows and productivity apps to solve problems I encounter myself.

Start with Orbit and Sales Copilot. They are the closest examples of what I would bring to Dust: understanding the work, building a useful tool and helping people use it.

Orbit: managing a busy operating day

Why I built it

Running an office and several teams means moving between client work, sales, operations, hiring and management decisions. My calendar shows meetings, but that is only part of the day. I also need to keep track of priorities and the work around those meetings.

Orbit is my executive assistant for work and life. It helps me run our US business and Bogotá office. It also helps me manage my personal life, learning and side projects.

It prepares replies before I even see a Slack message, email or WhatsApp. I decide what gets sent. Its newsfeed covers client news and activity for sales, and changes in Colombian laws for operations.

A founder can start with replies ready to review, a clear task list and useful news already gathered. There is less catching up to do before getting to work.

What it demonstrates

  • Turning the needs of an operating role into a tool I can use in my working day.
  • Keeping priorities and commitments understandable when several teams need attention.
  • Building around actual work rather than starting with a generic AI interface.
  • Keeping sensitive company information out of a public portfolio.

A day it needs to support

Illustrative scenario, not an extract from my calendar or company records.

Work coming in What I need to decide
A client meeting, an operations issue and a hiring decision What needs my attention first?
A commitment made during a meeting What do I need to do next?
Several teams asking for help What can I handle now, delegate or plan for later?

Status: a private workspace I use for my own operating work. The portfolio website shows its actual interface with fictional demo records, not a live workspace. I have not measured a reliable time-saving figure for Orbit, so I do not claim one here. Its source, internal records and live workspace are not published.

Sales Copilot: outreach, follow-up and coaching

The problem

Our sales associates, managers and account managers need to start relevant conversations and follow through. Writing a good first message takes time. A generic AI draft often needs as much editing as a message written from scratch.

I built Sales Copilot to help the team understand a prospect, write a personal approach and keep the conversation consistent through follow-up. It also explains the reasoning behind the suggested message, so it helps coach the seller.

How the workflow works

Moment What the tool helps with
Before the first approach Use the prospect’s context to draft a relevant connection message.
After an acceptance or reply Suggest the next message based on the conversation.
When there is no response Prepare a follow-up that stays consistent with the initial approach.
While the seller reviews the draft Explain why that approach makes sense.

A short example

Fictional prospect and sample messages written for this portfolio. These are illustrative, not captured production outputs or internal prompts.

Context: Maya leads a research team. She has publicly described the challenge of finding the right specialist quickly. The seller’s goal is to start a conversation about that problem.

First approach

Hi Maya, saw your note about finding specialists quickly. I work with research teams on expert sourcing. Which is usually harder for you: finding the right person or getting them available in time?

Coaching behind the approach

Start with a problem she has actually mentioned. Ask one simple question. There is no need to put the whole pitch into the first message.

If she replies that availability is the main issue

That makes sense. Is the time usually lost finding someone suitable, or coordinating the call once you’ve found them?

If she does not reply

Hi Maya, one follow-up on this. Do you usually need people for very specific questions, or a broader view of the market?

Use and reported results

The production tool is used daily by sales associates, sales managers and account managers.

Measure Reported result
Time saved Around 10 minutes per personalised message.
LinkedIn connection conversion From 15% to 40%.
Communication response rate From 8% to 25%.
Generation cost Approximately USD 0.08 per conversation created.

These are my reported operating figures. The conversion figures describe before-and-after observations, not a controlled experiment or independent audit. I do not attribute every change solely to the tool.

Status: published internally and used daily. This page shares the use case and an illustrative walkthrough. The production source, proprietary prompts, client data and credentials remain private.

The customer-facing experience behind the tools

Arches arranges research interviews with senior executives for consulting firms, private-equity firms, hedge funds and corporate clients. I have spent seven years winning and developing those accounts, first in Asia and now in the US.

Arches now has 330+ people and USD 40M in annual revenue company-wide. I built operations, then sales and account management in Asia, growing the business I led to USD 12M annually before moving to Colombia to launch our US business. Since May 2025, I’ve built our Bogotá office to 50+ people.

  • Built operations before building sales and account management, so I understand the delivery work behind a commercial promise.
  • Personally take accounts from initial outreach through vendor approval, negotiation and paid delivery.
  • Built and lead an approximately 18-person commercial team, with coaching, account planning and performance standards.
  • Built a 50+ person Colombian operation and serve as its General Manager and legal representative.
  • Report 90% annual client retention across Asia and the US. This is client retention, not software net revenue retention or a measure of daily user activity.

Other productivity projects

These public project pages give more context on my work under MinutesBack. The links lead to documentation or source, not a claim that every app is ready for commercial distribution.

Project What it does Public material and caveat
Snipbird Clipboard history, reusable message templates and local actions for macOS. Documentation and website. The public download is currently paused pending release checks. The application source is not in this repository.
Notchi Agenda, media, call audio and working files in a compact panel under the Mac notch. In development. The portfolio shows its Quick Start welcome screen, not a released download.
OTPeek Brings one-time login codes from mail and forwarded iPhone texts into a macOS popup. Source and build instructions. The repository describes an ad-hoc-signed build, not a notarized commercial release.
Switcher Helps move between individual application windows with previews and search. A modified GPL-3.0 distribution of AltTab. The original authors and project remain credited.

The website also includes a Snipbird interface preview with demo clips and Notchi’s Quick Start screenshot. Both were checked for private information before inclusion. No live clipboard contents, login codes or personal schedules are shown.

Why I want to join Dust

I want to move into AI and help customers get useful work done with it. That brings together the account development and tool building I already do.

Dust lets teams build agents around their own knowledge and tools. I’d like to help customers choose a useful first task, get people using it and improve it from their feedback.

On a smaller scale, I make the decisions your customers make: what to automate, where a person needs to check the result and whether the team actually uses it.

I’m always trying to save time and clicks, for myself and my team. Orbit helps me manage the day. Sales Copilot helps the team write better messages. I want to do this work with customers outside my own company.

These tools weren’t built with Dust. My AI rollout experience is with my own teams, not large external customers.

If useful, I can walk through Orbit and Sales Copilot using non-confidential examples during an interview.
