pack-smoke: unpacked size budget (14 MiB) is nearly exhausted on main; N1a exceeds it #317

Description

@LinuxDevil

npm run pack-smoke fails its unpacked-size budget (MAX_UNPACKED_BYTES = 14 * 1024 * 1024 = 14,680,064 in scripts/pack-smoke.ts) once a feature of moderate size lands.

Measured with npm pack --dry-run --json on 2026-10-02:

Where the bytes are (main): source maps 6.94 MB, src/ 2.36 MB, JS 2.43 MB, .d.ts 1.30 MB, llms-full.txt 0.71 MB, docs/ 0.66 MB. N1a adds about 85 KB of maps, 42 KB of JS, 30 KB of src/, 21 KB of .d.ts and 10 KB of docs.

The budget is a release-check constant, so the owner decides: raise it, or shrink the package (for example ship source maps without sourcesContent since src/ is shipped anyway, or stop shipping one of the two). N1a's pull request is left open until this is decided; every other verification step passes on it.
