Hello together,
to provide a special ColumnizerPlugin is really cool.

It would be awesome if plugins supports also injecting Highlighting Groups.

Are there plans for such a feature?

Motivation

In our team, we are working on different project with different log files. And the idea is to create for each log file a ColumnizerPlugin (and HighlightingPlugin) and distribute that via Chocolatey to all team members.

You can add different groups of highlights, that would cover your functionality or do you mean something else?

If you export your settings and import them, all the highlight groups should be there

But it's not possible to export only highlighting setting. I' thinking about a more flexible way.
I will implement PoC and show you what I mean, but can not promise when I will can do it.

No there is currently no way to only export highlight settings
One of the major questions would be what format should be used, to export those highlights, binary, json, xml?

From my perspective, the format does not matter. Perhaps the same as the current export format.

With version 1.8.8+ Settings will be saved as json, including highlightings
as pre work, you can already save them as .json if you use the re-released 1.8.7

are now merged to development, this means import / export as json is fully implemented, you can choose to import certain settings, if you choose Settings => Export all settings will always be exported.

Since the file is in json format you can now edit them by hand!
