The staff tool on macOS doesn't send characters to the customers, that are typed together with the option key (e.g. @ character via ⌥ + L or € character via ⌥ + E).
Java handles the option key a bit strange and returns true on KeyEvent#isAltDown() although it actually isn't the ALT key.
