I really like Bitsy Bye and the updated ProDOS. Part of the attraction of the original ProDOS BYE system was how visually slick it looked. I'd like to have the functionality of BB with the presentation of BYE. I believe this can be achieved with minimal changes to presentation and also not impact the ability of users of older Apples to still use and enjoy BB.
For those Apples that can support lower case, there could either be an auto-detect, or for more control, a setting for the screen's section separators to be either dashes and exclamation points, or underscores and vertical pipes. There could be a 1-block configuration file on-disk that stores the display preference.
Once this configuration file is created and integrated, it opens the possibility for settings for future preferences, such as like operating in 80-column mode (something I understand is being worked on), upper/lower- case text, etc.

As an alternative to this, could you tell me the locations I can modify with a a hex editor to change "-" to "_" and "!" to "|" ?
