Poor Display with kernel

I'm using rx480 with rock kernel.
When I boot with rock kernel, I have a very poor display with very low resolution.
This problem also applies to the console environment(tty1~5).

The only obvious problems in the dmesg were (a) a lot of DC (display)-related errors I don't understand yet and (b) a stack trace during parallel port initialization. I doubt that (b) is a root cause though.

Will look at the DC errors some more.

This isn't a solution, but when I've run into this problem, I have found that moving from DVI output to DisplayPort or HDMI has fixed the problem.

I can't guarantee that will work for you, but it was a quick workaround for the problem.

Is the issue still present with 1.9?

With 2.0 released, and no response since the release of 1.9 (and actually no reports for 18+ months), I'm going to be optimistic and assume this is fixed. I personally haven't run into this problem since ROCm 1.6.
