Yes, the screencast should ideally go out with release 1.0
Yes I did a screencast last night. It is close to half an hour in length. It was saved in .avi format. It is approximately 700 Mb. The first 5-10 minutes is just an overview of the commands, while the rest is me actually using the commands.
Sweet, can you upload it to youtube as an unlisted video (visible only to

+1 734.418.8134I uploaded but then it said the video was removed, because it was too long. I am restricted to videos 15 minutes or less.
I contacted ITS. CTools as a 2 gig limit, so that won't work. But there are a variety of additional university resources for hosting videos. More info in an email to follow...
You have to verify your youtube account by providing a cell phone number, and then the upload cap is lifted. It's somewhere on the Youtube Account settings page.
Link to video was added in recent update to spm8Batch_alpha by @dankessler, so I am closing this issue
