New version?

I have tried this OS and it contains a lot of useful tools but all of them are obsolete and the entire system is out of date.
I think it would be nice to create a brand new one based on the latest Ubuntu to get the project up and fresh again.

I've done a do-release-upgrade on this image to 20.04 LTS and it completes fine and the tooling I need works without issue. I haven't had a chance to do thorough testing but at least I can install Python 3.11 now =)

But as you mention it doesn't really fix the issue of the existing tooling either being old versions or superseded products. If you were really serious about contributing a fresh VM it'd be worth starting from scratch and ideally using some kind of update mechanism for all the source built apps (Maybe building it on Arch with AUR packages or similar?)

Also just wanted to note that https://github.com/AttifyOS/AttifyOS "v4" exists which is based on 20.04. I haven't tried it and unsure why it isn't linked from the official website but it's there ...
