DEEBug

DEEBug is an AI-powered tool designed to assist in testing and improving machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) models. It analyzes model outputs to detect bugs, faults, or weaknesses, and provides feedback to enhance model quality. By automating the majority of the debugging process, DEEBug helps reduce developer effort and accelerates model development.

Getting started

To make it easy for you to get started with DEEBug, follow the installation guide below.

Installation

  • Install the latest version of Git on your machine.
  • Install the version 3.10 of Python on your machine. (Make sure to check the box that says "Add Python to PATH")
  • Install the latest version of Node.js on your machine.
  • clone the repository using the command below

Commands for Back-end terminal on Window

cd DEEBug/backend
python -m venv venv
venv\Scripts\activate
pip install -r requirements.txt
flask run

Commands for Back-end terminal on Mac

cd DEEBug/backend
python3 -m venv venv
source venv/bin/activate
pip install -r requirements.txt
flask run

if you encounter an issue while installing the packages, run the following command

Set-ExecutionPolicy -Scope Process -ExecutionPolicy Bypass

The Tensorflow packages were installed to run across any devices, however, if you encounter an issue with the tensorflow packages then

  • Install the version of Tensorflow that matches your device.

About

DEEBUG is an AI-driven machine learning debugging platform that helps developers identify model errors, understand failure patterns, and receive targeted improvement suggestions. It combines a React frontend, a Flask backend, and Gemini-powered assistance to streamline ML debugging and reduce manual trial-and-error.
