Rendering artefacts with enabled animations

When using the latest version on master with a ui-layout that fills the whole screen, there are scrollbars spontaneously appearing/disappearing and also the ui-layout's overall size is not always right.

Just move the slider around to see the issues.

As a quick fix, I would suggest to make animations a configurable (optional) feature.

was this ever fixed ? If I toggle the visiblity of the left hand pane , I get scrollbars on the middle during the animation
