Why is Docker compilation not supported?

Dependency in C++ are very difficult to handle, i just run example, i will solve all dependecy。

When I'm executing cmake -S . -B build -G Ninja -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/xx/install -DICEBERG_BUILD_STATIC=ON -DICEBERG_BUILD_SHARED=ON,

it will block in -- Boost: Building from source for a long time， but I've already installed libboost-all-dev

Yeah, the boost is from the vendored arrow, I guess pre-install arrow might be help, but I haven't try.

We have defaulted Arrow to use bundled dependencies: https://github.com/apache/iceberg-cpp/blob/main/cmake_modules/IcebergThirdpartyToolchain.cmake#L80.

I haven't tried this but perhaps setting environment variable BOOST_SOURCE=SYSTEM might help: https://github.com/apache/arrow/blob/934554d6e72146d854341ce61e6d1197b6695794/ci/conan/all/conanfile.py#L345

it works for me, i can build success by this way, but it take me so long time, it looks like need download some package，not just boost，it add environment variable BOOST_SOURCE=SYSTEM still didn't work，i hope all dependency can pre install in docker，It can work even cannot access network

Hi, now that the basic devcontainer has been merged into main, could you please create another issue for this problem? It would be great if you could investigate this further :)
