1. Windows installer: single-file stop-emrg.cmd (emrg: enforce CRLF for Windows .cmd/.ps1 + truthful stop-git failure (rant 2026-08-12T12:30:41) #701 + emrg: merge stop-git.ps1 into stop-emrg.cmd as single file (rant 2026-08-12T14:00:05) #702, root-causes the three popup failures)
   • Enforced CRLF line endings (.gitattributes *.cmd text eol=crlf + CI check) — LF was the shared root cause of the 0.2.25 msys-2.0.dll / 0.2.26 escaping / 0.2.27 exit-1 popup trilogy (host verified LF→CRLF fixed the script immediately)
   • Deleted stop-git.ps1, logic merged into single-file stop-emrg.cmd (host instruction); step 4 kills git inline (fresh enumeration + truthful failure, verified to kill sh/vim under admin)
2. Auto-download update + GUI one-click install (emrg: auto-download update installer + GUI one-click install (rant 2026-08-12T12:10:12) #700)
   • daemon checks every 1h (was 24h) → auto-downloads matching-platform exe/pkg/AppImage (resume + SHA256 verify) → stores in ~/.emrg/updates/
   • GUI shows "new version ready" → click → graceful exit → launches installer
3. v0.2.27 release docs (emrg: document v0.2.27 release in quick-ref #699)

• pytest 730 passed, GUI 221 passed (bump only, no code change)
• grep 0.2.27 → history only; all 7 files at 0.2.28
