Jobi Armstrong

Operations manager turned data engineer. Twenty years running capital construction and telecom infrastructure in the field — now building the data systems that run underneath it.

Most construction data is not in a database. It's in bid PDFs, estimate spreadsheets, permit portals, and submittal logs, written by people who assumed a human would read it. I build the pipelines that turn that into validated, queryable records with provenance intact — because in this domain, an extraction you can't trace back to a page number is not an answer.

Currently — Founder, Armstrong Solutions Inc. (Denver, CO). AI and data automation for the construction industry.

Selected work

mario Engineering discipline for AI coding agents. A kickoff gate that blocks code until scope is settled, and a plan → build → review chain where each agent is restricted by tool permissions to what its job needs. The architect physically cannot write files.
permit-portal-case-study How a production permit system collapses ~25 Colorado jurisdictions and ~75 live permits into one queryable record. Architecture and decisions; source private because it holds client data.
guild-portal A place for AI Builders Guild members to share what they're building and get real feedback.
nexus-agent-os Claude command center — agent mission-control dashboard. Next.js, Tailwind, Framer Motion.

Client systems stay private — the permit portal above is written up as a case study instead.

Stack

Python PostgreSQL / pgvector Django + DRF FastAPI SQL JavaScript / React Next.js Bash Google Apps Script

Claude Code Codex CLI MCP servers LiteLLM subagent orchestration RAG eval harnesses

Ubuntu / WSL2 Docker systemd Railway Vercel Redis / BullMQ Tailscale

How I work

Route by task — reasoning-heavy design, bulk implementation, and cheap high-volume classification are different jobs and shouldn't run on the same model. Review by a different model than authored the code. Human approval gates on anything that leaves the building; nothing auto-posts.
