The root URL serves a meta-refresh + JS redirect to /portfolio/, where the actual portfolio site lives (sourced from baanu007/portfolio).
GitHub Pages user sites at <username>.github.io and project sites at <username>.github.io/<repo>/ are separate. Visitors who type the bare domain land here, so this page bounces them to the canonical portfolio path.
Earlier history of index.html is preserved in git — git log -- index.html and git show <sha>:index.html to retrieve any prior version.
