A prominent cause of trouble when using LocoMouse is not compiling additional packages to run on the required platform. Until recently pre-compiled binaries for such packages were included for windows 64bit only. When running on another platform (usually Linux) the program would fail, leaving users that did not have the time and/or patience to debug the code without knowing what went wrong.
To avoid such problems in the future there should be either an install and configure script that compiles the packages and configures LocoMouse (some MATLAB versions require a few tricks to run the code).
