Rationale: today the repo has no PR-time CI (the only workflow runs on release tags), no timeouts around analyzer subprocess invocations, several cross-language parity potholes that only a major release can legitimately fix, and README examples that call methods that don't exist. v2 is the breaking-change window — the breaking-labeled children below are in scope precisely because of that.
Findings from the ultra code review will be appended to this epic as additional children.
