Map-gen erase between renders; make grid black

Map gen doesn't erase canvas between renders. Should wipe canvas to a black box same size as the map. Make sure canvas is appropriately sized for max MM map size.

Try getting rid of the grid entirely. If it's still easy enough to count the grid tiles, then it'll be easier to differentiate colors without the grid.
