Software engineer with 20+ years of experience in software development and IT. I split my time between DevOps and backend work: AWS, Kubernetes and Terraform on one side, Java and system design on the other.
Day to day that means building and running infrastructure on AWS and Kubernetes, describing it as code with Terraform, and wiring up the CI/CD around it. On the other side I design the architecture of the Java systems that sit on top. Observability runs through most of it, since instrumentation and telemetry are what make an incident short instead of long.
I also help teams adopt DevOps and SRE practices, and spend a fair amount of time mentoring mid-level engineers.
I'm an Oracle ACE Pro and an AWS Community Builder. I coordinate the Java Noroeste JUG and manage the GDG Rio Preto community, which mostly means organizing meetups and workshops. I speak at conferences and community events about Java, observability, system architecture and cloud native infrastructure.
