Gabriel Monteiro Alonso

I build apps, extensions, and tools. Some become published products, others remain open-source projects or experiments.

My most complete projects today focus on dictation and transcription for iPhone, macOS, and Chrome. I work with AI coding agents. My role covers problem framing, product decisions, integrations, testing, releases, and maintenance.

A voice-to-text product available for iPhone on the App Store and distributed for macOS through its own website. I work on product direction, evolution, and operations across the Swift/SwiftUI clients and TypeScript/Convex backend.

WhatsApp Audio Transcriber

An open-source TypeScript and React extension that transcribes voice messages on WhatsApp Web. It is available on the Chrome Web Store and uses Manifest V3, validation, local caching, automated tests, and continuous integration.

DictateOSS

An open-source dictation app for macOS with local transcription using MLX Whisper and optional Groq acceleration.
