[campaign #252] STEP 7 — LARGE REPOS: 100-500 file repos (~6 repos)

Goal

Port the large-tier repos: 100-500 ReScript files per repo, ~6 repos in this band. Per umbrella developer-ecosystem (460 files) sits at the top of this tier.

Likely candidates (drawn from umbrella body's top backlog)

• developer-ecosystem (460 files) — heaviest in this tier
• hyperpolymath/iseriser (75 files — note: this is the corrected name for what the umbrella body called isers; renamed)
• 4 other repos in the 100-500 band (verify from STEP-2 inventory output)

Repo-name correction

The umbrella body lists isers (75 files) in its top backlog. This repo is renamed to hyperpolymath/iseriser (verified 2026-05-30). Use the new name throughout this step's PR set and update memory tracker accordingly.

Strategy

• Per-subsystem batching (continues STEP-6 convention)
• Larger repos may warrant 5-15 PRs each
• Ownership gate per PR (verify owner=hyperpolymath, isFork=false)
• Watch for vendored .res under **/deps/** or **/vendor/** — those should already be carve-out-excluded by STEP 1, but spot-check per-repo

Acceptance

• ~6 repos fully migrated
• developer-ecosystem migration plan documented in memory tracker (likely multi-session)
• Per-subsystem PR strategy applied
• Ownership gate passes on every PR
• isers → iseriser correction propagated everywhere

Status update — AS stdlib codegen landed; campaign waypoint shift (2026-06-01) 📌

What landed (sourced):

• affinescript#522 (2026-06-01) — Sqlite.affine codegen foundation; first stdlib extern with full Deno-ESM lowering + tests end-to-end.
• affinescript#504 (2026-06-01) — 6 Deno-ESM stdlib externs (stat helpers, byte ops, importMetaUrl) + wildcard-let codegen fix; closes 6 of 10 STEP-3 gaps in standards#242.
• affinescript#463 (2026-05-30) — non-ASCII Unicode escape emit in Deno-ESM.
• affinescript#421 — stdlib/json v0.3 via hpm-json-rsr Zig FFI.

What this means for the campaign:

• Stdlib extern → Deno-ESM lowering pattern is repeatable and tested (lib/codegen_deno.ml + tests/codegen-deno/*).
• STEP 3 / STEP 4 / megaport STEP 8 prerequisites partially closed (stdlib-extern side).
• Not yet sufficient for user-module codegen / hand-port → runtime replacement on its own; user-module emit + remaining stdlib primitives (affinescript#160 Http.fetch / proof-progress(typed-wasm): spec tracker stale — TW1 partial work landed, TW4 effectively discharged, TW3 ReScript doc-drift #162 Dict/Map / etc.) remain the keystone gaps.

Action: No new mass-port being kicked off from this post — surfacing the status so campaign waypoints stay accurate. Dependent sub-tickets can re-evaluate parking once they verify their specific blockers are in the "now-closed" set above.

Re-measured 2026-08-27 — this tier is effectively empty

The step targets repos holding 100–500 .res files (~6 repos). Measured across all 420 repos, exactly one repo sits in that band:

Two corrections:

• developer-ecosystem is 75 estate-authored .res, not 460. The original figure counted vendored upstream (rescript-ecosystem/rescript/tests 2,664, packages/core 2,950), which is a fork carve-out, not a port target.
• iseriser — the repo-name correction this step exists to record — has 0 .res.

Also internally inconsistent: #252's body states no step-issues were filed, yet this is one.

Recommend: fold stapeln into a lower tier and close this step. One repo does not need a tier of its own.
