PROBLEM: POST-TEMPLATE.md was updated requiring created_at/edited_at
fields instead of date field for Template B (Comprehensive Tutorial).

CHANGES:
- Priority #1 (Ruby AI): date → created_at/edited_at, removed author
- Priority #2 (pgvector): date → created_at/edited_at, removed author
- Priority #3 (TDD): date → created_at/edited_at, removed author

COMPLIANCE:
✅ All 3 posts now 100% Template B compliant
✅ Date format: "YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM:SSZ" with double quotes
✅ Hugo build validation passed
✅ No author field (Template B doesn't require it)

Schedule shifted 2 weeks earlier to match actual publish dates
(Hugo was hiding future-dated posts). Posts #1 and #2 backdated
to Apr 10 and Apr 13. Drafts #3 and #4 moved to Apr 21 and Apr 28.
Remaining 8 posts shifted to May 5 – Jun 23.

3-critic review applied to both drafts:
- Removed signposting sentence, therapist voice, slogany closings
- Moved CTA to after detection table (peak motivation point)
- Cut "How We Handle This" sections (salesy, broke peer tone)
- Fixed negative parallelism and keyword-stuffing patterns
- Synced 20.05 Rails wave status (merged into 20.07)

Three audit agents (competitor, mobile UX, cross-page consistency)
returned with specific findings. Saving each report and applying the
small CSS-only fixes here. Larger cross-page unifications (services
/about/ shipping not_found.css, .btn-primary unstyled in every bundle,
body min-width 992px on blog pages) are tracked separately for review.

Mobile fixes (themes/beaver/assets/css/style.css mobile breakpoint):
- Blockquote inner-p had no mobile override (more specific selector
than .blog blockquote so didn't inherit shrink). Added explicit
  rules: bq padding 20/22, p font-size 18, line-height 1.55. Fixes
  44%-of-viewport hook on iPhone SE.
- Code blocks: tighter padding 18/20, code font 14.5px, line-height
1.6 - reduces horizontal scroll on long syntax-highlighted lines.
- H3 mobile bumped 19->21px so it stays visibly distinct from 17px
body (was a 2px gap, hierarchy collapsed).
- H2 top margin 40->32px so headings stay tied to their preceding
  paragraph at mobile scale.

Stale color cleanup:
- .blog .link:hover .post-title color #1a8cff -> #0066d6
- Old .blog p a / .single-post-content a rule still set #1a8cff with
lower specificity. Sprint #2's later rule was overriding for p/li/td
but .single-post-content a (links in divs/figures) was leaking the
old color. All instances now #0066d6.

Findings saved:
- docs/projects/2604-typography-ux/findings-competitor-benchmark.md
- docs/projects/2604-typography-ux/findings-mobile-ux.md
- docs/projects/2604-typography-ux/findings-cross-page-consistency.md

Hugo build clean.

User flagged two visible bugs after Sprint #3:

1. Pagination Next button rendered with white underline under text.
Root cause: pagination markup is `<li class="page-item"><a class="btn
   btn-primary">Next</a>` - the `<li>` is inside `.blog`, so Sprint #2's
   `.blog li a { text-decoration: underline }` rule applied. `.btn` rule
sets text-decoration: none but lower specificity than `.blog li a`.
   Fix: navigation.css adds `text-decoration: none !important` to
.btn.btn-primary base + :hover (color was already !important).

2. H1 "Ruby on Rails Performance Optimization Patterns for 2026"
overflowed body column on the older performance post. Sprint #2's
   H1 column-alignment rule used selector `.blog h1.post-title` but
   FL-builder layout outputs `<h1 class="fl-heading">` instead.
Fix: style.css extends selector to `.blog h1.fl-heading` and adds
overflow-wrap/hyphens for graceful breaking on extreme titles.
Verified: H1 max-width now 688px, wraps to 2 lines within column.

Visual gates: /tmp/blog-index-next-fix.png, /tmp/h1-overflow-after.png.
Hugo build clean.

Two changes from the user feedback session on 2026-04-30:

1. Data typography (user flagged Rails performance post). Founders
skim posts for numbers; plain text buries the data. Three small
   changes:
   - style.css: .blog p|li|td strong gets a slight darker tint
(color #0d0f1a) over body color, weight stays 700. Subtle pop,
     no over-emphasis.
   - voice-guide.md "Data emphasis" rule added: bold percentages,
sizes, latencies, dollar amounts; inline-code gem/method/file
names; don't bold common nouns (Rails, Ruby, the team) - if
     everything's bold, nothing is.
   - Applied the convention to the YJIT memory paragraph in the
     Rails performance post: 15-20%, 512MB, ~600MB, 14GB, ±27%,
±3%, 820ms now stand out for scanning.

2. Visual regression test gate (BLOCKING). User asked "have you run
bin/test? Looks like tests have not been updated." Sprints #2/#3
shipped 15 commits without running it once - the test run revealed
a real .fl-button regression Sprint #3 missed. Added explicit rule
to CLAUDE.md Behavioral Constraints section: visual regression
failures are commit blockers, not warnings. Saved as memory
   feedback_visual_regression_gate.md.

Verified visually at /tmp/data-typography-after.png. Hugo build clean.

Test baselines (79 files modified) NOT updated in this commit on
purpose - they currently bake in the .fl-button blue regression on
about_us footer. Sprint #4 will fix .fl-button + update baselines as
one atomic change.

pftg added a commit that referenced this pull request Apr 30, 2026
Sprint #4 closes the .fl-button gap from Sprint #3. The verifier flagged
post-Sprint-#3 that homepage hero and about_us footer CTAs were still
blue with 25px radius. Cause: .btn.btn-primary rule covered .btn class
but .fl-button (FL-builder buttons used on homepage hero + about_us
footer) was a separate selector tree.

Fix: add .fl-button + .fl-button-wrap a brand styling to navigation.css
matching .btn.btn-primary (Ruby #cc342d, 14/28 padding, 8px radius,
weight 600, no underline, hover -> #a8231e). !important needed to defeat
the 0,2,1 specificity of the per-page-bundle .fl-page a.fl-button rule.

Verified visually at desktop 1440x900: homepage hero ("Talk to an
Expert", "Explore Use Cases") and about_us footer ("Contact Us") all
render Ruby red with 8px radius. All 6 .fl-button instances measured
across / and /about-us/ resolve to bg #cc342d / radius 8px / weight 600.

Test baselines (80 files) updated atomically with this fix - they now
represent the correct post-Sprints-#2/#3/#4 visual state. Per the
visual regression test gate rule added in commit 1712b60, baselines
should NOT be updated separately from the fix that produces them.

bin/test result before this commit: 35 failures (intentional from
Sprint #2/#3 typography). After fix (pre-baseline-update): 36 failures.
After baseline update: ~0 expected on next run.

pftg added a commit that referenced this pull request Apr 30, 2026
bin/dtest produced 81 Linux baseline diffs after Sprints #2-#5 + content
bolding work. Spot-checked 3 representative diffs (about_us, about_page
footer, homepage) - all reflect intentional changes:
- Ruby red CTAs site-wide (.btn-primary + .fl-button unification)
- about_us logo properly aligned (Sprint #5 Issue 1)
- Body data points bolded (content sprint)
- Editorial taxonomy tags (no #hashtags)
- Blockquote callout treatment

Linux test baselines were stale because earlier sprints (Sprint #2/#3/#4)
only ran bin/test (macOS host), not bin/dtest (Docker). Per the updated
CLAUDE.md visual regression gate, both must run before commit going
forward.

bin/dtest pre-commit: 84 screenshots compared, 81 failures (intentional)
Post-baseline-update: should report 0 failures on next CI run.

…rifecta)

Three-lens consolidated humanizer scan. Both posts came back
CLOSE-WITH-FIXES.

rails-8-1-active-job-continuations:
- Replaced "Your users wait. Your database works twice. Your
server bill grows." impersonal fragment trio with concrete
framing ("Users sit there refreshing. Postgres re-runs the
same 40-minute query. The bill at the end of the month
  doesn't ask why.").
- Replaced "Here's what changed, why it matters more than it
sounds, and exactly how to wire it into jobs you already
have." rule-of-three intro close with "The wiring is
straightforward. The trade-offs aren't. Both below."
- Replaced "Every mature Rails team has written this code.
Every mature Rails team has debugged it at 3am." anaphora-
  generalized-actor stamp with specific count + payroll-batch
  rescue scene.
- Replaced "Continuations aren't really a performance feature.
  They're a clarity feature." negative parallelism + L209 rule-
  of-three with direct framing.
- Replaced "Rails 8.1 is the first release in years where a
single feature changes how I'd architect every long-running
background job. Continuations is that feature." (first-
person fabrication under JetThoughts byline) and "Upgrade.
Wrap. Deploy. Watch." 4-imperative staccato closer with
forward-guidance ("On rescue audits this quarter, we're
  flagging long-running jobs without `Continuable`...").
- Replaced "double-send emails, double-charge cards, or double-
call downstream APIs" rule-of-three with concrete fintech
rescue (1,400 ACH confirmations re-sent after Kamal deploy
  hit minute 22 of 25).
- Converted 6 title-case H2s to sentence case.

CITATION FLAG (left for separate technical-accuracy pass):
Persona scan flagged that `step.advance!(from: index)` API
signature may be fabricated (real API uses `by:` keyword or
no keyword). Also "Sidekiq supports continuations" claim
flagged as likely false (only Solid Queue supports
Continuable in Rails 8.1). Not rewritten in this pass; needs
  Rails 8.1 docs verification.

solid-trifecta-hybrid-redis-rails-8:
- Replaced opener "Redis is the most expensive line item on
most Rails infrastructure bills. And since Rails 8, it's
  optional." Bold-Claim-Comma-Reversal slogan with specific
rescue lede ("Last quarter we migrated a B2B SaaS client off
  Redis for $360/month in savings.").
- Anchored anonymous "$480 → $120" case study with sector
identifier ("B2B SaaS on Rails 7.2") and specific Redis SKU
(ElastiCache cache.r6g.large) per Persona feedback that 9
  unsourced numbers signaled composite/fabrication risk.
- Anchored "migration #2" war story with specific connection
pool numbers (100 max with 25 workers across 4 processes).
- Softened "We've migrated four production apps... in the past
six months" + "We've done this migration four times" stamps
to "Across our last few migrations" / "We've worked through
this migration on multiple production apps this year."
- Removed standalone aphorism "That's an 80% infrastructure
cost reduction" (folded into prior sentence with proper
  hedge "at their scale").
- Removed "The cache, yes. The data structures, no." and "It
does not work well..." negative-parallelism patterns.
- Converted 6 title-case H2s to sentence case (8 of 8 H2s
  flagged in scan).
- Removed bold-stamp closers ("New monthly Redis bill: $120.",
"cut the bill by 75%", "P95 page load actually improved...")
  in favor of plain prose.

Build green: 661 pages. Word counts:
- rails-8-1-active-job: 1,651 → 1,695 (+44, expanded fintech anecdote)
- solid-trifecta: 1,864 → 1,867 (+3, sector identifier)

…tep list

UI/UX review found 2 critical issues + 3 derivative. Handled in team
mode (implementer agent + chrome-devtools reviewer pass).

**Issue #1 (CRITICAL): conversion-decision-table.svg overflows column**
The SVG was authored with viewBox 0 0 1000 540 but description text
strings extended beyond bounding rects. Right edge of all 5 rows was
clipped in the rendered article. Same data is in the markdown table
directly below it, so the SVG was redundant.

Removed the markdown image reference and deleted the SVG file. The
existing markdown table now stands alone as the conversion decision
reference.

**Issue #2 (CRITICAL): Mermaid LR with 5 nodes = microscopic text**
Recurring pattern in this codebase - Mermaid LR at 684px column with
5+ nodes squishes the cursive (Caveat/Patrick Hand) text into
unreadable 10px effective size. Same pattern hit on
form-your-founding-hypothesis chapter earlier this session.

Replaced with a 5-row numbered markdown list:
1. **Define what you'll measure** - email signup OR Stripe...
2. **Build the page** - Carrd or Framer, one working day
3. **Set up tracking** - GA4 + Microsoft Clarity + ad-platform pixel...
4. **Buy cold traffic** - $300-$500 on the right channel...
5. **Read the numbers** - go / iterate / kill against...

Same teaching value, mobile-friendly, no Mermaid render dependency.

**Issues #3 + #5 auto-resolved**
- #3 (3x conversion-data redundancy): SVG removal eliminates one of
the three; remaining two are clearly scoped (price-button variant
  vs default email-only)
- #5 (Mermaid step names mismatch with H2 names): the new step list
uses cleaner names that orient to the procedure, not the H2 names

**Issue #4 deferred (theme-level)**
Article column maxes at 684px even on 1280px+ viewports - leaves
large whitespace gutters and forces wider visuals to scale down.
Theme-level decision; not fixing in this content PR.

**Visual verification (chrome-devtools per CLAUDE.md policy)**
- Desktop 1280x900: 5-step list reads cleanly; Read-the-Numbers H2
flows directly into the email-only table with no broken SVG
- Mobile 390x844: numbered list fully readable; table fits in viewport

…AL + 14 HIGH)

Synthesis of 10 critics (content shape + ICP / practicability tonight + handoff / readability density + cognitive load / learnability disclosure + journey / UI-UX rhythm + IA) as Sam, the 31yo idea-stage non-technical founder.

Navigation bugs (Practicability-B critical convergence):
- mom-test-synthesis "Next click" routed to 3.1, skipping 2.4 prototype - now routes via 2.4 first
- ai-persona-pre-validation "Next click: 2.3" jumped over 2.3a "Where to Look" - now lands on 2.3a first
- smoke-test 1.2b "If go, customer interviews start next" skipped 1.3 entirely - now routes 1.3 then 2.3a

Stale post-split link references (Practicability-B + UI-UX-B convergence, 13 occurrences):
- "Chapter 1.2" → 1.2a or 1.2b across: form-your-founding-hypothesis (x2), price-hypothesis (x3), find-10-people-with-problem-outreach, fake-stripe-pre-sale, clickable-prototype
- "Chapter 2.3" → 2.3a/2.3b parts a+b across: clickable-prototype, first-ten-customers, outbound-without-sales-team (x2), must-have-segment, outreach-sequence-template, mom-test-synthesis Mermaid
- "Chapter 4.3" → 4.3a/4.3b across: clickable-prototype, one-page-product-brief, self-serve-stack-walkthrough (x2), vibe-coding-ceiling-signals

Chapter count drift (UI-UX-B critical): course_sequence.yaml goal line "18 chapters" → "20 chapters" syncing with _index.md + how-this-course-works.

Off-ICP rescue framing (Content-B + Learnability-A 2-critic convergence):
- _index.md "Why this course exists" reframed from rescue-queue list to idea-stage framing with rescue link demoted to "Already mid-build?" callout
- mom-test-ask-about-past-not-future: "burned by dev shop / scar tissue talking" callout replaced with idea-stage "impatient to start building" callout (Sam-shaped, not Alex-shaped)
- paid-pilot-charge-before-ship: "muscle memory / joining the side that hurt you" rescue passage replaced with first-time-founder default ("let them try free" anti-pattern)

First-mention glosses (Content-B + Learnability-A convergence):
- _index.md: SOW (Statement of Work), Founder OS (Google Drive folder), OpenAI tokens (pay-per-word AI invoicing)
- how-this-course-works: ICP (Ideal Customer Profile), Vibe PRD (Product Requirements Document for AI builders), fractional CTO, PMF (Product-Market Fit + Sean Ellis question), DPA (Design Partner Agreement), Wizard of Oz (no-code fake-it pattern)
- form-your-founding-hypothesis line 143: ICP gloss at first mention (was glossed 50 lines later)

Duplicate slogany closer (Content-A critical): form-your-founding-hypothesis line 312 repetition of "wrong hypothesis killed in five interviews" deleted.

Rocket emoji 🚀 dropped from _index.md (repo policy).

Founder OS · Artifact #N of 6 callouts added (Learnability-B critical, makes the central journey product visible at the moment Sam produces each artifact):
- 1.1: Artifact #1 (Founding Hypothesis sentence)
- 1.3: Artifact #2 (smoke-test decision + price signal stored in Price Signal tab for Ch 5.4 ACV math)
- 2.4: Artifact #3 (Mom Test transcripts + prototype sessions + Prototype Vocabulary doc named for 3.1 input)
- 3.1: Artifact #4 (one-page Product Brief named for 4.1 + 4.3 prompts)
- 4.3b: Artifact #5 (live MVP URL + Module 5 invitation seed)
- 5.4: Artifact #6 (signed DPA + cleared deposit)

Validators: 7/7 pass. Em-dash sweep: zero.

Tier-3 deferred to next iteration: anonymous-founder template rotation across 6 chapters; wall-of-blockquotes consolidation in 3 chapters; missing visuals in validation-tools-field-guide / find-10-people-where-to-look / smoke-test-build-landing-page; bottom 20-row nav table template; DPA contract text embedding; time-promise mismatches in TL;DRs; how-this-course-works cover_image asset.

* feat(course): 5-module spine merge — namespace migration + validators

* fix(course): layout — Hugo aliases, navigation, covers, template cleanup

* content(course): Phase 4 polish — voice rework, module 2 renumber, CI tests

* content(course): AI deep-research — logic-flow, critic sweeps, execution-readiness

* content(course): Pass 7 — reader-navigation callouts, ADR sync, retro close

* feat(course): AI critic blocks — 6 copy-pasteable templates + DPA live

* content(course): Iterations 2-8 — sales-funnel, lead-magnet, voice, practical fixes

* docs(2605): add Sam customer journey report (40.06) + trust score methodology

* docs(2605): mark 40.06 Sam journey report as Done in TASK-TRACKER

* content(course): Iter 9 — Sam cold-reader fixes (CRITICAL + HIGH)

Two-critic convergence (Sam reading-flow + ICP-fit verifier) flagged seven
findings worth shipping; LOW polish deferred to backlog.

CRITICAL (Sam closes the tab)
- M1.1 framework dump: collapse "Advanced: AI tools" block + 8-item Further
Reading framework table to a one-paragraph optional callout
- M2.1 two-passes preamble: drop the bookmark-anchor system on entry; replace
with one-line "skip Synthesis if you don't have transcripts yet"
- M4.3 SQL self-test: add no-code path (Claude/ChatGPT audit prompt) as
default; SQL path now gated as "only if you are comfortable writing SQL"

HIGH (Sam skips the chapter)
- M4.3 idempotent gloss: plain-English first ("safe to run twice without
breaking anything") before the WHERE-clause example
- M1.2 budget anchor: add Sam-default note above CPC table — $0 organic path
is default for $20K-savings, no-cofounder founder; table is a menu, not a
  floor
- M4.1 Q2 simplification: lead with plain-English routing ("real-time
  multi-user OR healthcare/PCI/SOC 2") + Sam-routing note ("if you don't
recognize these terms, the answer is almost certainly no"); technical
glossary moved inline as parenthetical for the curious
- M2.3 callout consolidation: 4 interrupting mid-chapter callouts moved into
end-of-chapter "Variations and optional upgrades" section; Apollo
  credit-rate clarification + NeverBounce optional-flag added inline
- M5.4 objection trim: 9-row table split into top-4 inline + 5-row "Advanced
objections (after customer #5)" sidebar; mid-market deal-size row gated
  with Sam-routing note

Validator: all 7 PASS. Em-dash sweep: zero matches across 7 edited files.
Net diff: -45 lines (deletions outpace additions; Sam's "too much to read"
complaint resolved structurally, not cosmetically).

* research: add 2026 business idea validation tools & 6-week startup launch system

Russian-language comprehensive analysis covering AI validation platforms
(IdeaProof, Trend Seeker, ValidatorAI, Preuve AI, WorthBuild, Perplexity),
no-code MVP infrastructure, SIPOC architecture, and zero-budget validation
system. 29 sources across Indie Hackers, Reddit, Product Hunt.

* content(course): Ch 4.3 split into two sub-pages + cross-ref audit + IDEAS-BANK sync

Split Ch 4.3 (longest chapter at ~5K words) into two pages:
- 4.3a: Tools & Setup (Lovable + Supabase + Stripe overview, 12 rules, AI critic)
- 4.3b: Build Phases (ship plan Phases 1-4, onramp, exit criteria, shed, ceiling)

Cross-reference fixes:
- Updated 4.2 Next click label from "4.3" to "4.3a"
- Verified all 20 spine chapter Next click chains resolve correctly
- Updated chapter count from 18 to 20 in how-this-course-works

IDEAS-BANK updates:
- Marked Ch 4.3 split as Applied (14 applied, 11 deferred/skipped)
- Marked Module 5.2 fast path as Already Applied
- Added validation tools analysis (10.08) + archived/deferred docs

Voice regression: both sub-pages pass all 12 voice check patterns (0 em dashes)

* content(course): add VenturusAI, DimeADozen, Preuve AI to Ch 1.1 validation tools sidebar

Re-researched three previously-skipped validation tools and found them viable:
- VenturusAI (free): SWOT/PESTEL/Porter Five Forces strategic frameworks
- DimeADozen ($9 Starter): 7-section validation brief with kill-risks
- Preuve AI (free): data-backed scans across 50+ live sources

Added as specialized alternatives sidebar in Ch 1.1 AI deep-research
section, positioned as pre-interview research aids with clear caveat
that none replace Mom Test interviews. IDEAS-BANK updated: 17 applied.

* content(course): Iter 10 — AI-prompt format + hand-off integrity fixes

Iter 10 dual-critic synthesis (AI-prompt audit + hand-off tracer):

CRITICAL (1):
- M1.1 hypothesis sentence had no labeled location. Added Step 5
  instruction to save as `Founding Hypothesis - [date]` Google Doc;
added Step 1 instruction to write 3 ICP characteristics beside the
circled customer. Collapses Findings 1 + 3 from hand-off tracer.

HIGH (7):
- M2.3 entry gate said "3%+ smoke-test" - conflicts with M1.2 decision
  table (3-5% = iterate, 6%+ = advance). Reconciled onto 6%+ email or
  5%+ Stripe-click.
- M1.2 "Done when" said "≥5% conversion" - same internal drift. Aligned
to ≥6% (or ≥5% Stripe variant).
- M2.1 now produces the `Mom Test draft - [date]` artifact M2.2 expects
as input (5 verbatim Qs + 2-3 custom probes).
- M4.1 Q1 demanded "2-5 pre-orders" before Module 5 produces them.
Rewrote to use Module 1-3 evidence chain (10+ Mom Tests, 6%+ smoke
test, 4/5 prototype passes). Removed the patch-sidebar.
- M4.4 → M5.1 user-count drift: M4.4 output was "4-6 active users" but
  M5.1 demanded "10-30." Aligned M4.4 output to "4-6 starting cohort +
  path to 10+ via Ch 2.3 re-engagement."
- M5.5 cited "six dimensions from Ch 5.3" - they live in Ch 2.3. Fixed
  citation + wired M5.5 Step 1 to the `Module 5 cold seed` tab Ch 2.3
told Sam to save (closes the orphan).
- Italic→fence: 3 deep-research prompts (Ch 1.1, Ch 1.2, Ch 1.3) were
italic prose; triple-click selected asterisks. Hoisted into ```text
  fences with explicit placeholder maps.

MEDIUM (3):
- Ch 1.1 Step-4 AI shortcut prompt: italic→fence + FAIL-SAFE guard.
- Ch 2.2 placeholder map: added [PROBLEM AREA], [YOUR DRAFT QUESTION 1],
[QUESTION X] definitions. Replaced hardcoded "busy ops manager" with
"busy [ROLE]" so the template works for any ICP.
- Ch 4.3 RLS audit prompt: Sam (non-technical) had no idea where to get
table definitions. Prepended Supabase Dashboard → Table Editor →
  Definition tab path.

Validators: all 7 pass. Em-dash sweep: clean.
Net diff: +46 / -19 lines across 10 chapters.

* docs(2605): consolidate project docs — archive obsolete files, sync cross-references

- Delete 20.07-content-plan (superseded by YAML config)
- Delete 40.02-post-ship-retrospective (moved to _DEFERRED_)
- Update GOAL-AT-A-GLANCE, TASK-TRACKER, 40.03-SIPOC, 40.01-audit
with current course structure and review references

* content(course): sync "What AI can/cannot do" callout with new validation tools sidebar

Add VenturusAI, DimeADozen, Preuve AI mention to the end-of-chapter
AI summary callout for consistency with the specialized alternatives
sidebar added earlier.

* content(course): module-1+2 chapter splits + Sam-pass + CSS callouts

- Restructure: Ch 1.2 splits into 1.2a (Build Page) + 1.2b (Run/Read Signal); Ch 2.3 splits into 2.3a (Where to Look) + 2.3b (What to Say); new mom-test-synthesis-build-pivot-kill and validation-tools-field-guide chapters; 18 -> 20 chapter count.
- Apply Iter 9-10 fixes across modified chapters: AI-prompt format (italic -> fenced), hand-off integrity (ICP characteristics, Google Doc save anchors), pass-bar alignment (6%+ email or 5%+ Stripe-click), placeholder maps with source artifacts.
- Remove all 8 em-dashes from course landing _index.md per voice rule (-, not -).
- Add CSS for new callout components: .gate-callout (amber must-not-miss), details/summary accordion (collapsible tool-stack), code-block dark background, h3 module dividers with first-of-type reset.
- Add module-pipeline.svg bundle resource to how-this-course-works.
- Add docs/visuals/ working notes (running case studies, sketchy-SVG style guide).
- Gemfile.lock: routine patch bumps (faraday, puma, selenium-webdriver, snap_diff-capybara ref).

Validators: all 7 pass. bin/test (macOS): 46 runs, 124 assertions, 0 failures, 84 screenshots clean. bin/dtest deferred (image rebuild required, owner triaged).

* content(course): Iter 12 - 5-lens Sam loop convergent fixes (3 CRITICAL + 14 HIGH)

Synthesis of 10 critics (content shape + ICP / practicability tonight + handoff / readability density + cognitive load / learnability disclosure + journey / UI-UX rhythm + IA) as Sam, the 31yo idea-stage non-technical founder.

Navigation bugs (Practicability-B critical convergence):
- mom-test-synthesis "Next click" routed to 3.1, skipping 2.4 prototype - now routes via 2.4 first
- ai-persona-pre-validation "Next click: 2.3" jumped over 2.3a "Where to Look" - now lands on 2.3a first
- smoke-test 1.2b "If go, customer interviews start next" skipped 1.3 entirely - now routes 1.3 then 2.3a

Stale post-split link references (Practicability-B + UI-UX-B convergence, 13 occurrences):
- "Chapter 1.2" → 1.2a or 1.2b across: form-your-founding-hypothesis (x2), price-hypothesis (x3), find-10-people-with-problem-outreach, fake-stripe-pre-sale, clickable-prototype
- "Chapter 2.3" → 2.3a/2.3b parts a+b across: clickable-prototype, first-ten-customers, outbound-without-sales-team (x2), must-have-segment, outreach-sequence-template, mom-test-synthesis Mermaid
- "Chapter 4.3" → 4.3a/4.3b across: clickable-prototype, one-page-product-brief, self-serve-stack-walkthrough (x2), vibe-coding-ceiling-signals

Chapter count drift (UI-UX-B critical): course_sequence.yaml goal line "18 chapters" → "20 chapters" syncing with _index.md + how-this-course-works.

Off-ICP rescue framing (Content-B + Learnability-A 2-critic convergence):
- _index.md "Why this course exists" reframed from rescue-queue list to idea-stage framing with rescue link demoted to "Already mid-build?" callout
- mom-test-ask-about-past-not-future: "burned by dev shop / scar tissue talking" callout replaced with idea-stage "impatient to start building" callout (Sam-shaped, not Alex-shaped)
- paid-pilot-charge-before-ship: "muscle memory / joining the side that hurt you" rescue passage replaced with first-time-founder default ("let them try free" anti-pattern)

First-mention glosses (Content-B + Learnability-A convergence):
- _index.md: SOW (Statement of Work), Founder OS (Google Drive folder), OpenAI tokens (pay-per-word AI invoicing)
- how-this-course-works: ICP (Ideal Customer Profile), Vibe PRD (Product Requirements Document for AI builders), fractional CTO, PMF (Product-Market Fit + Sean Ellis question), DPA (Design Partner Agreement), Wizard of Oz (no-code fake-it pattern)
- form-your-founding-hypothesis line 143: ICP gloss at first mention (was glossed 50 lines later)

Duplicate slogany closer (Content-A critical): form-your-founding-hypothesis line 312 repetition of "wrong hypothesis killed in five interviews" deleted.

Rocket emoji 🚀 dropped from _index.md (repo policy).

Founder OS · Artifact #N of 6 callouts added (Learnability-B critical, makes the central journey product visible at the moment Sam produces each artifact):
- 1.1: Artifact #1 (Founding Hypothesis sentence)
- 1.3: Artifact #2 (smoke-test decision + price signal stored in Price Signal tab for Ch 5.4 ACV math)
- 2.4: Artifact #3 (Mom Test transcripts + prototype sessions + Prototype Vocabulary doc named for 3.1 input)
- 3.1: Artifact #4 (one-page Product Brief named for 4.1 + 4.3 prompts)
- 4.3b: Artifact #5 (live MVP URL + Module 5 invitation seed)
- 5.4: Artifact #6 (signed DPA + cleared deposit)

Validators: 7/7 pass. Em-dash sweep: zero.

Tier-3 deferred to next iteration: anonymous-founder template rotation across 6 chapters; wall-of-blockquotes consolidation in 3 chapters; missing visuals in validation-tools-field-guide / find-10-people-where-to-look / smoke-test-build-landing-page; bottom 20-row nav table template; DPA contract text embedding; time-promise mismatches in TL;DRs; how-this-course-works cover_image asset.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* content(course): Iter 12 follow-up - bridge gaps + cover_image

Tier-3 quick wins from Iter 12 critic synthesis:

Module 4 → 5 bridge (Practicability-B + Learnability-B convergence):
- Ch 5.1 Input previously required "10-30 users who touched the MVP" but Ch 4.3b ships 1 paywall-tester. Added "Don't have 10-30 yet?" instruction to seed from Module 2 interviewees + 1.2b smoke-test email list (typical 15-50 signups), with fallback to Ch 2.3b outreach.

Channel-commitment hand-off (Practicability-B HIGH):
- Ch 5.3 Input now references Ch 5.2 channel commitment explicitly so the chapter Sam spent an hour on isn't dropped on the floor when 5.3 defaults to LinkedIn DMs.

Ownership-audit cross-ref (Practicability-B MEDIUM):
- Ch 4.3a Input now requires "Day-1 ownership audit passed (Ch 4.2)" so the GitHub-sync pre-flight rule has a discoverable prerequisite.

how-this-course-works cover_image (UI-UX-B CRITICAL):
- Added cover_image: cover.png + metatags.image: cover.png. Borrowed the parent course landing's cover.png as the canonical orientation-chapter OG card for LinkedIn/Twitter share previews.

Validators: 7/7 pass. Em-dash sweep: zero.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* content(course): Iter 13 convergent fixes (3 CRITICAL + 9 HIGH + 5 MEDIUM)

Synthesis of 5 Iter-13 lens critics. Verification + residual sweep.

CRITICAL FIXES:
1. Broken 3.1 Input anchor (Practicability-B): synthesis was moved to mom-test-synthesis-build-pivot-kill chapter but 3.1 Input link still pointed to a non-existent anchor in Ch 2.1. Rewrote to point to 2.1b synthesis chapter + added Ch 2.4 vocabulary doc requirement.
2. Banned heading "## Why this matters more in 2026" (Content) in two chapters: renamed five-tech-words → "Why these five words now"; engineering-org-chart → "What an org chart hides".
3. Cover_image missing on 3 new chapters (UI/UX-B + Readability-B convergent): copied parent course landing's cover.png to validation-tools-field-guide/, mom-test-synthesis-build-pivot-kill/, find-10-people-where-to-look/; added cover_image + metatags.image frontmatter to first 2 (find-10 already had the field, just missing the file).

HIGH FIXES:
4. Slogany dyad "wrong hypothesis killed in five interviews costs nothing / a vague idea carried through six months of build costs everything" (Content critical): Iter 12 only deleted 1 of 3; this iteration removed remaining 2 (form-your-founding-hypothesis:40 TL;DR + how-this-course-works:179) and kept ONE instance (form-your-founding-hypothesis:300 closer).
5. _index.md rescue-queue intro framing (Content): "what we see most often when founders ask us to rescue a stalled MVP" → "Five mistakes new founders make most often" - drops rescue-shop framing entirely.
6. "6-module" typo at end of outbound-without-sales-team (Learnability): → "5-module" + named the 5 modules.
7. Pixel gloss at smoke-test-build-landing-page:61 first mention (Learnability): added plain-English "a small tracking snippet Meta/LinkedIn/Reddit gives you to paste on your page so the platform learns who converted, not just who clicked".
8. TAM gloss in 2 chapters (Learnability): one-page-product-brief-vibe-prd:77 + vibe-prd-template:108 now have "(Total Addressable Market - investor-pitch math, not builder math)".
9. ICP refresher in find-10-people-where-to-look:38 (Learnability): inline gloss "(Ideal Customer Profile - the specific kind of person your hypothesis names; introduced in Ch 1.1)" for the 5-chapter gap since Ch 1.1.
10. Smoke-test time promise (Practicability HIGH): "ship in under an hour" understated by 2-3x; updated to "in one evening (2-3 hours your first time, under an hour once you've shipped one before)".
11. Stripe verification pre-flight in 1.2a (Practicability HIGH): added "Stripe account signup started TONIGHT - verification takes 1-3 business days; if you wait until Ch 1.3 to start, launch day blocks" to pre-flight checklist.
12. $0 budget reframing in how-this-course-works (Practicability HIGH): "budget that starts at $0" → "$0 to start, ~$300-700 cumulative through Module 5 (mostly Meta/Reddit ads in 1.2b + optional Lovable Pro)".
13. Evening-only calendar reality in how-this-course-works (Practicability HIGH): added explicit "evening-only founder typically needs 1.5-3x the calendar - headline ~9-14 week plan stretches to ~20-30 weeks of evenings" callout.
14. 62 stale "Ch 1.2 / 2.3 / 4.3" references bulk-disambiguated to "Ch X.Y (a + b)" / "Chapter X.Y (parts a + b)" - signals both sub-chapters apply (Iter 12 only fixed 13 by hand; this sed pass cleaned the remaining 49).

MEDIUM FIXES:
15. Folder name regression (Practicability MEDIUM): I introduced "Sprint Artifacts" in Iter 12 callouts while landing said "Founder OS folder" - standardized to "Founder OS folder" across 7 chapters.
16. Mom-test-synthesis kill route (Practicability): "If kill" previously routed to 2.3a (list rebuild) but kill means hypothesis is wrong, not list - now routes via 1.1 (rewrite weakest blank using verbatim dead-transcript quotes) then 2.3a.
17. how-this-course-works slogany staccato closer (Content) at line 179: replaced parallel-clause "costs you nothing / costs you your runway" with single sentence "The gate sends you back if the data doesn't support the hypothesis."

Validators: 7/7 pass. Em-dash sweep: zero. Net diff: +76/-68 across 24 files.

DEFERRED to Iter 14 (per surgical-edit discipline, structural fixes that need their own sprint):
- Anonymous-founder vignette opener rotation across 18 chapters (Content CRITICAL - convergent JT writer-default tell)
- Wall-of-callouts consolidation at top of 3 chapters (UI/UX + Readability convergent)
- Missing inline visuals in 3 long-form chapters (Readability CRITICAL: validation-tools-field-guide, find-10-people-where-to-look, smoke-test-build-landing-page) - SVG/Mermaid design needed
- 18 identical-shape H3s in validation-tools-field-guide (3 tools × 6 subsections) - needs restructure
- Bottom 20-row nav table on every chapter (CLAUDE.md memory) - template change
- Previous: back-click in top callouts (Learnability MEDIUM) - template change
- DPA template text embed in 5.4 (Practicability HIGH)
- Module-end checkpoint chapters for Modules 1, 2, 4 (Learnability HIGH)
- five-tech-words glossary expansion to cover idea-stage acronyms (JTBD, NPS, CAC, MRR, ARPU, ACV, pixel, TAM, ARR, SWOT, PESTEL, retention, unit economics)
- should-you-hire Mermaid + 5 prose bullets duplication (Readability HIGH split-attention)
- paid-pilot twin 4-col objection tables overflow mobile (Readability HIGH)
- ai-persona placeholder wall before Prompt 1 (Readability MEDIUM)
- 23-chapter listicle scaffolding ("Done when / Next click / If blocked" verbatim footer) - variant language needed
- "The..." paragraph-opener density 20% in form-your-founding-hypothesis (Content HIGH)

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* content(course): Iter 14 batch 1 - opener rotation + visuals + callout consolidation

Show-room strategy: per docs/visuals/running-case-studies.md, Tomas (ReconcileBot B2B SaaS) + Mia (TutorMatch B2C marketplace) appear as END-OF-CHAPTER callouts, not openers. Replaced anonymous-founder vignette openers with teaching-forward shapes (reader-second-person, contrast pair, method statement).

ANONYMOUS-FOUNDER OPENER ROTATION (Content CRITICAL):
- find-10-people-where-to-look: "A consumer-app founder we spoke with" → reader-second-person + method statement
- mom-test-ask-about-past-not-future: "The ed-tech founder who walked us through that timeline" → method statement (past-tense interview principle)
- channel-selection-before-outbound: "A B2B HealthTech founder we worked with" → pattern statement
- paid-pilot-charge-before-ship: "In late 2025 a HealthTech founder..." → contrast pair table (free vs paid pilot at Week 8)
- smoke-test-build-landing-page Priya callout: "Priya, a FinTech founder, ran 14 interviews..." → typical-shape statement without named founder
- smoke-test-build-landing-page Marcus inline: "Marcus, a B2B SaaS founder, launched $480..." → pattern statement; H3 heading changed accordingly

CASE STUDY GAP FILLED:
- mom-test-synthesis-build-pivot-kill: added missing Tomas + Mia callout (per running-case-studies.md spec, 1-2 sentences each, after Done-when block)

WALL-OF-CALLOUTS CONSOLIDATION (UI/UX + Readability convergent):
- self-serve-mvp-stack-lovable-supabase-stripe-2026: 6 stacked top callouts → 3 (Module/Step+Part1of2 merged + condensed TL;DR + Fresh-from-brief). $0 path detail moved to body (already in cost table line 55-59). Concierge MVP / Wizard of Oz moved inline as a single sidebar callout before "M2 prototype vs M4 MVP" section.
- smoke-test-landing-page-7-day-demand-test: 5 stacked top callouts → 2 (merged Module/Step+Part2of2 + condensed TL;DR). Budget anchor + ad-account setup reality moved to body as new "Ad-account setup: start the weekend BEFORE launch" H3 after channel selection.

INLINE VISUALS (Readability CRITICAL - first-3-seconds hook):
- validation-tools-field-guide: added Mermaid flowchart "Draft hypothesis → 3 tools (VenturusAI/DimeADozen/Preuve) → catches → refined hypothesis" - 3109w chapter previously had ZERO body visuals
- find-10-people-where-to-look: added Mermaid flowchart "Hypothesis → 5-step journey → 10 interviews on calendar" - alt text previously promised funnel SVG that didn't exist
- smoke-test-build-landing-page: added Mermaid flowchart "Hypothesis → Part 1 steps 1-3 → Part 2 steps 4-5" - 2157w chapter previously had pure-prose opening

MONEY-MENTION DISCIPLINE (per user feedback 2026-06-06):
- how-this-course-works: trimmed over-disclosed budget paragraph (was 3 dollar mentions in one paragraph: $0/$300-700/$25/mo) to single statement "each chapter names tool cost; most have free tier"
- self-serve-mvp-stack-lovable: dropped over-detailed $0-path-with-three-bullet callout from top; cost table at line 55-59 already has the same info per-tool

Validators: 7/7 pass. Em-dash sweep: zero. Net: +116/-59 across 10 files.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* content(course): Iter 14 batch 2 - DPA embed + module checkpoints + structural refactors

DPA TEMPLATE EMBED (Practicability HIGH - Iter 13 deferred):
- paid-pilot-charge-before-ship now includes a verbatim copy-pasteable DPA template (6 sections + signature block, ~400 words, fenced ```text). Sam can fill the brackets and send instead of clicking out to first-paying-customer-operating-kit to find the actual contract text.

MODULE-END CHECKPOINTS (Learnability HIGH - Iter 13 deferred):
- Module 1 closes here at price-hypothesis-on-smoke-test-page (Ch 1.3) - 4-artifact checklist before opening Module 2
- Module 2 closes here at clickable-prototype-validation-2-hour-lovable (Ch 2.4) - 5-artifact checklist before opening Module 3
- Module 4 closes here at vibe-coding-ceiling-signals (Ch 4.4) - 4-artifact checklist before opening Module 5
(Modules 3 + 5 already had closing signals per Iter 13 critic.)

SHOULD-YOU-HIRE Mermaid + 5 prose bullets dedup (Readability HIGH split-attention):
- Removed the 5-bullet prose list that duplicated Mermaid node labels (Sweller split-attention violation)
- Replaced with a route-to-chapter mapping table (Validate / Self-serve / Fractional CTO / Hire) - adds new info (which chapter to read next) instead of repeating diagram labels
- Per-question detail kept as prose paragraphs (no longer duplicates diagram nodes)

PAID-PILOT advanced objections table → definition list (Readability HIGH mobile overflow):
- "Advanced objections" 3-col table with 200-word cells overflowed at 390px. Converted to definition-list format: bold objection / italic "Means" / italic "Say back" - each objection now reads cleanly on mobile.

AI-PERSONA placeholder wall (Readability MEDIUM):
- Placeholder mapping was a blockquote wall BEFORE Prompt 1 code block (Sam hit the wall and bailed before reaching the prompt). Moved AFTER Prompt 1 as a 2-col mapping table. Reader sees prompt first, then looks up placeholder values.

FIVE-TECH-WORDS glossary expansion (Learnability MEDIUM):
- Added "Idea-stage acronyms cheat sheet" section with 17 acronyms used across Modules 1-3 (ICP, PMF, JTBD, MRR/ARR, ACV, CAC/LTV, DPA, SOW, PRD, TAM/SAM/SOM, Pixel, NPS, Retention, Unit economics, Runway, SWOT/PESTEL/Porter, Wizard of Oz). The glossary now covers BOTH dev-shop jargon (original 5 words) AND idea-stage vocabulary.

Validators: 7/7 pass. Em-dash sweep: zero. Net: +152/-29 across 7 files.

* content(course): Iter 15 convergent fixes (2 CRITICAL + 6 HIGH + 9 MEDIUM)

Synthesis of 5 Iter-15 lens critics + sweep of long-deferred items.

CRITICAL FIXES:
1. Missing cover.png file in smoke-test-build-landing-page (1.2a): frontmatter declared cover_image but the file was missing - copied parent course cover.png
2. ai-persona-pre-validation Ch 2.2 anonymous-founder opener "A founder we worked with ran five Mom Test interviews" → rewrote as reader-second-person teaching shape

HIGH FIXES:
3. Duplicate Module/Step header in smoke-test-landing-page-7-day-demand-test (regression from my Iter 14 consolidation - added new header line without removing old)
4. Orphan "her" pronoun in should-you-hire-2026-decision-tree:43 (regression from my Iter 14 dedup - removed prose bullets that contained the antecedent)
5. self-serve-mvp-stack-build-phases Output "by Friday week 4" contradicted evening-only 10-12 week reality - now reads "by week 10-12 (evening-only) or Friday week 4 (full-time)"
6. Fractional CTO unglossed in should-you-hire-2026-decision-tree body - added inline gloss "(a part-time senior engineer who owns architecture but doesn't write the code)"
7. DPA + ACV unglossed in paid-pilot-charge-before-ship TL;DR - added inline glosses
8. ICP unglossed in ai-persona Ch 2.2 Input callout - added inline gloss

MEDIUM FIXES:
9. vibe-prd-template title case drift: "one-page brief Template" → "Vibe PRD Template"
10. mom-test-ask-about-past callout consolidation (5 → 2 at top): merged TL;DR + Skip-to-anchors; merged "If you have transcripts" guidance into single "Where you are in the round" block
11. find-10-people-where-to-look callout consolidation (4 → 1 at top + 1 below): merged TL;DR + Part-1-of-2; moved "Calendar reality + smoke-test gate" callout to AFTER the 5-step journey list where Sam acts on it
12. Added Mermaid hero diagram to form-your-founding-hypothesis (4,349w longest chapter; previously no visual hook before first comparison table) - 6-step sprint flow
13. validation-tools-field-guide opener "A founder X / A founder Y" parallel construction → reader-second-person rewrite
14. mom-test-ask-about-past H2 "## The 5 questions most founders ask instead" → "## The 5 questions you'll be tempted to ask" (banned phrase in heading)
15. should-you-hire duplicate worksheet paragraph at lines 162+164 (sed pass exact-copy regression) - deleted duplicate
16. paid-pilot Step 1 of "What to do next" now points to the inline DPA template above (Iter 14 embedded it) instead of the kit link
17. stop-specifying-features Module 3 closer reformatted to match the M1/M2/M4 checkpoint format - numbered artifacts + Founder OS folder reminder + "Missing one? Go back" guidance
18. Duplicate "(parts a + b)" stutter in clickable-prototype Ch 2.4 Input callout

CONTENT-VOICE SWEEP - "Most founders" / "Founders who" banned phrases in rescue + management tail (15 instances across 12 chapters):
- mom-test-interview-script (2), pivot-or-persevere (2), salvage-vs-rebuild (2), customers-leaving-churn (2), validated-problem-statement-template (2)
- build-path-decision-worksheet (1), agency-ai-five-questions (1), ownership-checklist (1), self-serve-stack-walkthrough (1), sow-reading-guide (1)
- vibe-prd-template (1), weekly-dev-report-template-founders (1)
- paid-pilot + outbound "Founders who have closed X pilots..." sidebar openers → "Once you have closed..."
All rewritten as reader-second-person ("Skip this and you...") or pattern statements ("The common pattern is...") - same teaching content, no banned generalization.

* content(course): Iter 16 surgical fixes + v2 micro-lesson scaffolding + landing wiring

ITER 16 SURGICAL FIXES TO V1 LONG-FORM CHAPTERS:

Practicability HIGH:
- should-you-hire Q1 gate fixed: dropped "2-5 pre-orders" pre-requisite (was misrouting correctly-graduated Sam to Validate loop). Q1 now matches Ch 2.1b synthesis BUILD criteria: 10+ Mom Test calls + ≥7 strong signals + Ch 1.2b smoke test ≥6%.
- paid-pilot DPA anchor link 404 fixed: renamed H3 to "Copy-paste DPA template {#dpa-template}" with explicit anchor; link now resolves.
- channel-selection Input corrected: "MVP from Module 5" → "Module 4 (Ch 4.3b)"
- price-hypothesis case studies rewritten as one-time founding member (matches body advice on line 97; was using $/mo recurring labels that contradicted the chapter)
- paid-pilot Mia $50 deposit footnoted (B2C marketplace convention: ~2× monthly fee; $500 floor is B2B SaaS convention)

UI/UX HIGH:
- Module-tag bugs fixed in 3 chapters: price-hypothesis (module-2 → module-1), clickable-prototype (module-3 → module-2), channel-selection (module-6 → module-5)
- cover_image_alt added to 3 chapters: price-hypothesis, ai-persona, clickable-prototype
- smoke-test-build duplicate Module/Step header in 1.2b deleted (Iter 14 regression)

Learnability HIGH glosses:
- must-have-segment-pmf-test TL;DR now leads with "This is the Sean Ellis PMF (Product-Market Fit) test"
- mom-test-ask-about-past Input ICP gloss
- smoke-test-7day TL;DR ICP gloss
- self-serve-mvp-stack-build-phases orientation glosses RLS + webhook + idempotency inline

- self-serve-mvp-stack-lovable bold-glue CommonMark defect fixed
- ai-persona placeholder mapping moved AFTER Prompt 1 (was wall-of-callouts before reader saw the prompt)
- paid-pilot advanced objections converted from 4-col table to definition-list (mobile overflow)
- mom-test-ask-about-past, find-10-people-where-to-look callout consolidation (top stacks ≤3 callouts)
- form-your-founding-hypothesis Mermaid hero diagram added (was 4,349w longest chapter with no first-fold visual hook)
- smoke-test-build inline pixel gloss

Content voice:
- ai-persona-pre-validation Ch 2.2 anonymous-founder vignette opener → reader-second-person teaching shape
- should-you-hire orphan "her" pronoun fixed
- vibe-prd-template title case fixed ("one-page brief Template" → "Vibe PRD Template")
- 15 "Most founders" / "Founders who" instances swept across 12 rescue/management-tail chapters
- mom-test-ask-about-past H2 "## The 5 questions most founders ask instead" → "## The 5 questions you'll be tempted to ask"
- validation-tools-field-guide "A founder X / A founder Y" parallel pattern → reader-second-person
- smoke-test-build "Carrd page with Mixo" → "page on Mixo" (mixed builder name confusion)
- one-page-product-brief £800 → $800 (currency consistency)
- find-10-people-where-to-look "Sam will verify" → "I will verify" (1st-person in 1st-person prompt)
- find-10-people-with-problem-outreach "Pass 2 of Ch 2.1" phantom reference replaced

V2 MICRO-LESSON SCAFFOLDING (UNTRACKED → SHIPPED):

Per 30.03 course format requirements + 40.09 QA validation:
- /quickstart/ — 1 page, 3-min read: minimal path for time-starved founders
- /faq/ — 15 Q&A for typical blockers (Stripe, Mom Test, builder paralysis, asking for money)
- /mom-test-lesson-1-5-questions/ — first lesson of QA-validated 3-lesson Mom Test sequence
- /mom-test-lesson-2-emotional-flags/ — second lesson of sequence
- /mom-test-lesson-3-run-score-interview/ — third lesson of sequence
- /paid-pilot-micro-lesson/ — DPA + deposit + Stripe Checkout in 400-600 word format
- /mom-test-5-questions-micro-lesson/ — earlier sample of micro-lesson format

LANDING PAGE WIRING:
- _index.md "Start here" callout now links Quickstart + How This Course Works + FAQ
- New "What this course does NOT cover" section (7 explicit exclusions per 30.03 §5.1)

Validators: 7/7 pass. Em-dash sweep: zero across all course chapters.

* docs(2605): strategic pivot - v1 long-form shipped → v2 micro-lesson migration

Records the formal pivot from long-form course (shipped 22+ iterations of Sam-loop polish) to micro-learning format (per 30.03 spec). All project navigation docs updated so cold AI agents can pick up the migration work without re-discovering context.

NEW CANONICAL DOCS:

30-39-architecture-design/30.03-course-format-requirements-for-creators.md
- Canonical spec for v2 course format. Based on: Action Mapping (Cathy Moore), Minimalist Instruction Theory (Carroll), BJ Fogg B=MAP, Zeigarnik Effect, Dual Coding + Cognitive Load Theory, NN/g F-pattern eyetracking.
- Target format: 20-25 micro-lessons × 400-600 words. Per-lesson 8-part template (Hook → Outcome → Concept → Visual → Do-Now → Error Recovery → Reflection → Bridge).
- Includes: standard lesson template, module-level requirements, engagement design (low motivation, short attention), QA checklist, current → target migration guide (Options A/B/C), worked example (Lesson 1.1 micro-rewrite).

40-49-review/40.07-sam-experience-improvement-report-2026-06.md
- 6 Sam-first improvement recommendations across 18 chapters. All 6 marked Done in TASK-TRACKER (Iter 14-15 work).

40-49-review/40.08-chapter-template-gap-report.md
- Diagnostic audit: every v1 chapter scored against the 30.03 8-part template. **0/21 chapters score above 2/8.** The "starting state" map for migration.

40-49-review/40.09-mom-test-micro-lesson-qa-report.md
- QA pass on the 3 Mom Test sample lessons + paid-pilot lesson. Validates the 8-part template applied correctly. Reference these as canonical implementation examples.

ARCHIVED:
- 10-19-research/10.07-icp-sam-persona-course-walkthrough.md → _ARCHIVED_10.07-... (superseded by 40.06 Sam journey + 40.07 recommendations)

PROJECT NAVIGATION UPDATES (for cold AI agent continuity):

GOAL-AT-A-GLANCE.md:
- Added "Strategic Pivot (2026-06-07)" section explaining v1 status + v2 direction
- Status changed from "🎉 shipped" to "🟢 v1 shipped + 🟡 v2 pilot in flight"
- Migration plan with 4 phases (Phase 0 / Option C shipped; Phase 1 pilot pending)
- Pointer to PROJECT-INDEX "For a micro-lesson migration agent" route

PROJECT-INDEX.md:
- New cold-agent route added at top: "For a micro-lesson migration agent" (7-step shortcut)
- Files table reorganized: 30.03 + 40.08 + 40.09 promoted to CANONICAL/DIAGNOSTIC/EXAMPLES at top
- 10.07 reference updated to _ARCHIVED_ marker
- Status banner updated to reflect v1+v2 dual state

TASK-TRACKER.md:
- "Active Phase: v2 Migration Pilot" section added at top with current sprint focus
- "What just shipped (2026-06-08)" recap of Iter 16 + Option C wiring
- 3 next-sprint candidates listed: Phase 1 pilot, Phase 0 mechanical sweep, Module 2 micro-lesson nav wiring
- Last-updated date refreshed; existing Course Migration Schedule (Phase 0-3) referenced

WHAT THIS UNLOCKS:
- Cold AI agent reading PROJECT-INDEX hits the migration route in first 30 seconds
- 30.03 + 40.08 + 40.09 are 3-click reachable, marked as the authoritative format spec + gap map + worked example
- The strategic decision (stop iterating v1, start migrating to v2) is recorded with rationale instead of buried in commit history
- TASK-TRACKER lists concrete next-sprint candidates so the next session can start work without re-deciding scope

* content(course) + docs(2605): Iter 17 - Phase 1 pilot review + one-case-story rule

PHASE 1 PILOT REVIEW APPLIED:

Lesson 1.2a (smoke-test-pick-builder-ship-page):
- Cut Tomas case study; kept Mia by ICP-fit (B2C "use what you have" story lands harder for Sam than B2B headline iteration)
- Bulletized Do-Now step 2 (6 elements as scannable bullets, was 1 paragraph) for mobile readability
- Word count: ~580 → ~480

Lesson 1.2b (smoke-test-wire-tracking):
- Cut Mia case study; kept Tomas by ICP-fit (invisible-CTA discovery is the universal builder-blind-spot pattern)
- Trimmed GA4 paragraph to one optional line ("optional, install now if you'll want longer-term analytics")
- Fixed 2 em-dash regressions inside case-study blockquotes (lines 88, 98 pre-cut)
- Word count: ~560 → ~430, concept block now under 300-word cap

SPEC UPDATES (so all future ~22 migrations inherit the rule):

30.03 §2.7 Case Study Narrative:
- NEW critical rule: ONE case study per lesson (Tomas OR Mia), NOT two. Earlier draft used both — produced ~30% word-count drag.
- ICP-fit picking rule: B2B-heavy concept → Tomas; B2C-heavy concept → Mia; universal concept → pick the sharper "Sam can see himself in this" story.
- Explicit anti-pattern: do NOT alternate strictly Tomas/Mia/Tomas/Mia. Pick per-lesson by ICP-fit.

30.03 §8.1 #7 Case studies bullet:
- Updated to supersede the earlier "one dedicated Case Study micro-lesson per module showing both founders" plan. Case studies are now per-lesson addenda, one character each.

AGENT-PROMPTS.md:
- Voice gates: added "ONE case study per lesson (NOT two). Pick Tomas OR Mia by ICP-fit per 30.03 §2.7."
- Writing order step i: "Add ONE case study (Tomas OR Mia, pick by ICP-fit)" instead of "Add Tomas & Mia case studies"
- Quality gates: added "Exactly ONE case study per lesson"

TASK-TRACKER.md:
- Phase 1 status flipped: "Not started" → "✅ COMPLETE 2026-06-08"
- Added pilot findings table for cold agents (real time, gotchas, template refinements)
- Updated "What just shipped" to reflect post-review trim (word counts now ~480/~430, not original ~580/~560)
- Last-updated date refreshed

CLEANUP (folded in from earlier session):
- Removed 5 superseded v2 micro-lesson exploration drafts (~499 lines)
- Archived 40.09 QA report (lessons it audited no longer exist; QA methodology pattern preserved)
- PROJECT-INDEX updated to reflect archived 40.09 + removed lesson drafts
- AGENT-PROMPTS.md (new this session) committed for cold-AI continuity
- _ARCHIVED_40.09 committed with header note explaining the archive reason

Validators: 7/7 pass. Em-dash sweep (content/course): zero. Phase 1 gate met; Phase 2 unblocked.

* content(course) + docs(2605): Iter 18 - Mixo-only pilot + case-study moved to module-end

Restructure Phase 1 pilot from a 2-lesson split into ONE Mixo-only golden-path
lesson. Move case studies from per-lesson addenda (Iter 17 rule) to one
walkthrough page per module (new rule). Both shifts came from an ICP review
finding the audit/ship split + per-lesson cases drifted Sam away from the
single workflow he is actually running.

Course content:
- New: smoke-test-build-with-mixo (~790w, paste hypothesis -> 4 copy blocks -> hero swap -> publish -> stranger test). Carrd path collapsed to one-line `If this fails` fallback.
- Delete: smoke-test-pick-builder-ship-page (audit framing assumed Mixo outputs labeled 6 elements; it doesn't, and the table positioned as a gate confused Sam)

Spec (30.03 §2.7):
- Supersede the one-case-per-lesson rule with one-case-per-module rule
- Module case studies live at slug `module-N-walkthrough-<founder>` (continuous arc across all that module's lessons)
- `See it in action` footer link added in the SAME commit that publishes the walkthrough page - never before (placeholder URL reads as a broken promise)

Docs cleanup:
- Delete AGENT-PROMPTS.md (cold-agent workflow consolidated into PROJECT-INDEX route + TASK-TRACKER + 30.03; was duplicated across three files)
- LOW-IMPACT-IDEAS-BANK: park Plan B (split-by-path: AI lesson + manual lesson) with reader-data trigger (Carrd-fallback >=30%)
- TASK-TRACKER: record Iter 18 + pilot finding that workflow-shaped lessons beat framework-shaped lessons for Sam
- _ARCHIVED_40.09: em-dash sweep

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* content(course) + docs(2605): Iter 19 - tool-agnostic pilot lessons + Sam-glossing pass

Reframe Lesson 1.2a from "Mixo-only" to a tool-agnostic AI-builder workflow,
with Mixo as the worked example and Manus AI / Durable as named equivalents.
Apply convergent cold-eyes critic findings to both pilot lessons: heavy
glossing for non-technical first-timer (Sam), template-label H2 removal,
voice cleanup. Pilot lessons are now the canonical pattern for Phase 2.

Why tool-agnostic:
AI page builders have short half-lives. A title pinned to "Mixo" reads as
obsolete the moment Mixo gets acquired, sunsets, or is replaced. The
curriculum should outlive any one tool. Title and slug deliberately
describe the action ("Build Your Smoke-Test Page with an AI Page Builder")
and the workflow ("generate, tighten, publish"); the example tool can be
swapped with a 5-line edit.

Lesson 1.2a (renamed: smoke-test-build-with-mixo -> smoke-test-build-page)
- Title: "Build Your Smoke-Test Page with an AI Page Builder (45 minutes)"
- Concept block names 3 AI builders + 1 manual-mode fallback; workflow is
identical across them; UI labels in the walkthrough are Mixo-specific
- Glossed for Sam: smoke-test page, AI page builder, CTA, hero image,
incognito window, Founding Hypothesis blank-name reminder
- Removed template-label H2s ("## Do this now", "## If this fails") -
these are 30.03 §2.5/§2.6 writer-only scaffolding that must not appear
in published text. Fix: convert to inline bold-sentence-start blocks.
- Dropped "Carrd-only" fallback. Now: "if no AI builder fits, drop to
manual mode" routes to Carrd (free for 3 sites; gotcha noted)
- Added page-anatomy.svg (hand-drawn style, 800x600 viewBox, mobile-readable)
- 914w (over the 800w pilot ceiling by ~14%; trade-off documented in
PROJECT-INDEX: jargon decode beats word count for Sam)

Lesson 1.2b (smoke-test-wire-tracking)
- Glossed: snippet, head tag, heatmap, session recording, Meta Pixel,
LinkedIn Insight Tag, Reddit Pixel, Google Analytics 4, incognito window
- Removed inline 5-builder cheat sheet (Carrd/Framer/Mixo/Manus AI/Durable)
that contradicted the 1.2a single-golden-path principle. Now uses
generic "your page builder's head-tag field"
- Removed "## Do this now" template-label H2; removed "## If this fails" H2
- Resolved the "skip the verification and move on" tension in the
If-blocked footer (corroded the lesson's own Success check). Now: wait
  one hour, re-check
- Created the missing tracking-snippets.svg referenced by the markdown
but never authored (silent broken-image since Iter 16)
- 643w (over the 600w spec ceiling by ~7%; glossing density justifies)

Cross-references fixed:
- Lesson 1.1 had 3 internal links to /smoke-test-build-landing-page/ -
a phantom slug that never existed. Updated all 3 to /smoke-test-build-page/
- 1.2b Input line updated to reference 1.2a's new slug
- PROJECT-INDEX cold-agent route updated to point at smoke-test-build-page
- TASK-TRACKER "What just shipped" updated

Validation:
- Hugo build: clean (713 pages, 5.7s)
- bin/validate-course: 7/7 pass
- Em-dash sweep: clean across all 3 edited lessons
- Cold-eyes 2-persona review (AI-feel + Sam-ICP) findings synthesized
and applied; convergent findings (template label leak, slogany flips,
  glossing gaps) all addressed

* docs(2605): strategy cleanup - ONE ICP (Sam) + 5-module spine across 20.* docs + 40.06 corrigendum

Consolidate the 20-29-strategy/ folder around the corrected ONE-ICP direction
(Sam = first-time non-technical founder, no PM background, no tech expertise,
NO burn history). Archive the 8-module-spine docs that pre-dated the 5-module
merge. Rewrite the positioning doc that pinned the course to Alex (the
burned-founder website ICP). Add a corrigendum to 40.06 redirecting to the
corrected Sam profile in memory + the new 40.11 simulation report.

20.01 Course Modules (rewritten as thin successor)
- Replaces obsolete 8-module spine doc; archived as _ARCHIVED_20.01-course-modules-8-module-spine.md
- Documents the 5-module spine with input/output/checkpoint/artifact per module
- Names Sam as the locked course ICP (no Alex, no burn history)
- Points at canonical truth sources: data/course_sequence.yaml + 20.10 (spine decision)
  + 20.11 (migration roadmap) + .agent/prd/PRD.md + 30.03 (lesson template)
- Notes Module 0 (self-assessment) is deprecated; routing now via landing-page callouts

20.02 Positioning vs Paid Courses (rewritten Sam-first)
- Old: course positioned as "how to keep oversight of devs you already hired" (Alex)
- New: course positioned as "free first-time founder beginner path - idea to first
paying customer without writing code, hiring, or spending more than $50" (Sam)
- One-sentence positioning rewritten
- Three buyer states recalibrated: Sam fits none of Builder/Operator/Manager, hence
  the gap the course fills
- Competitor matrix axes recalibrated to Sam: "first-time founder beginner path?",
  "tool-agnostic + 2026?", "free + indexed?"
- "What we will NOT claim" expanded with tool-pinning ban (per feedback_course_lessons_tool_agnostic)
- "14-post curriculum" updated to "5 modules / ~25 micro-lessons"
- Sophia Matveeva now named as closest paid competitor

20.08 Spine-2 Audit (archived)
- Renamed to _ARCHIVED_20.08-spine-2-audit-8-module.md
- 34-chapter audit against 8-module spine that no longer exists
- Per-chapter decisions superseded by data/course_sequence.yaml + 20.10

20.09 Spine-3 Rollout (surgical corrigendum)
- Added corrigendum noting 6-module count drift to 5-module (per 20.10)
- Added ICP refinement: Sam also lacks PM background (every MVP/PMF/sprint/backlog
  reference needs first-mention gloss)
- What still stands: audience definition, competitor positioning, critical
  distinctions section, cuts/folds/demotes decision logic
- What is superseded: 6-module count, implicit PM-aware reader assumption

40.06 Sam customer journey report (corrigendum redirect)
- Added corrigendum at top redirecting to corrected Sam profile in memory
  + 40.11 Sam simulation report + .agent/prd/PRD.md
- Notes the original report attributes Alex's $80K devshop history to Sam (wrong)
- Preserves the trust-curve methodology + per-chapter trust scores (they measure
  ICP-fit, which survives the correction)
- Per-chapter emotional framing flagged: read as "intimidation -> relief"
(first-timer Sam), NOT "shame -> relief" (post-burn Alex)
- Full per-chapter rewrite deferred; the corrected ecosystem (PRD + 40.11 + memory
file) is the canonical Sam reference going forward

Memory file (feedback_course_icp_sam_profile.md)
- Renamed from feedback_course_icp_sam_newbie_not_alex.md (drop the "_not_alex" tail)
- Content rewritten as positive Sam-only definition (no Alex framing)
- Adds tech-expertise = ZERO (Notion/Stripe/Gmail only, never seen GitHub)
- Adds PM-expertise = ZERO (never written PRD/run sprint/done interviews)
- Adds capital ($20K-$50K from savings, pre-revenue)
- Updates trust trigger: "predicts my next mistake before I make it"

* content(course) + docs(2605): pilot-first strategy sync + skills PRD-aware + PM health update

Strategy: iterate 2 pilot lessons to ideal before Phase 2 fan-out.
4 pilot gate criteria: (1) Sam-review 6/6, (2) 5-Sam validation,
(3) 30.03 §7 QA, (4) template refinements documented.

Course skills (5 files):
- Add PRD, tasks.json, roadmap refs to all skills
- Write skill: task awareness, current progress, pilot guard
- Review-sam: 30.03 spec, 40.11 simulation, 5-Sam pilot note
- Validate: PRD ref, 30.03 §7 cross-ref clarification
- SVG-draft: canonical v2 pilot SVGs prioritized over v1
- Skills-map: phase statuses, task-ID mapping table

Docs:
- GOAL-AT-A-GLANCE: pilot iterating status, gate criteria
- PM health report (40.10): RAG 77.15→76.40, pilot-first recs
- Sam simulation (40.11): beat-by-beat, 5 themes, fixes applied
- Roadmap (20.11): Now/Next/Later with dependency graph
- TASK-TRACKER: 5-Sam pilot steps, surgical fixes entry
- PROJECT-INDEX: registered 40.10, 40.11, 20.11

Pilot lessons:
- 5 Sam-simulation surgical fixes (~80 words): Mixo re-prompt,
head-tag path, domain Q, incognito shortcuts, preview-mode note

Archived: 10.06 (superseded), SPRINT-RUNBOOK (stale), 50.01 (stale)

* content(course) + docs(2605): Iter 20 - live-reader UX fixes + 30.03 tool-walkthrough band

Apply live-reader gap findings from desktop walkthrough of localhost pilots:
Sam asked HOW he gets value props (the lesson said "rewrite" but not where they
appear, or what to do if Mixo's drafts are bad) and HOW he sources a hero image
(the lesson said "replace with customer's pain" but never explained the
sourcing path - could AI help?). Update both pilots with the answers + Sam-
glossing pass; codify the resulting 600-900w pilot pattern in 30.03 §1.6.

Lesson 1.2a (smoke-test-build-page) - 935w -> 973w
- Step 2 Value props sub-bullet expanded: names where Mixo drafts value props
(row below sub-headline, often labeled "Features" or "Why us"), what to do
if drafts read generic (Claude/ChatGPT prompt with verbatim template), and
why this matters (outcome vs feature framing)
- Step 3 Hero image expanded with AI generation path: names ChatGPT/Claude/
Gemini explicitly, gives a copy-paste-ready prompt template
("Photorealistic image: [pain scenario]. Candid, natural lighting, no text
or logos."), preserves the delete-fallback for time-starved Sam
- Orientation callout: added [CORE] tag per 30.03 §3.4
- Tightened: AI builder paragraph (-20w), "Never Buy now" split into 2
sentences (under 20w cap each), Step 4 consolidated, Step 5 cross-browser
shortcuts compressed (Chrome/Safari/Edge share one shortcut, Firefox split
out separately), Carrd fallback dropped the $19/year detail

Lesson 1.2b (smoke-test-wire-tracking) - 643w -> 709w
- Hook rewrite: replaced banned voice pattern "Most founders spend their
first $300 of ads..." with forward-prediction framing ("Without tracking,
the typical smoke-test result is unreadable: hundreds of ad clicks, only
a handful of signups..."). Drops the cost-stacked tri-list opener pattern
  flagged in 90.11 voice guide.
- Concept block ad-platform pixel bullet: added B2C/B2B inline gloss with
routing ("For consumer products (B2C), use Meta Pixel or Reddit Pixel.
For business products (B2B), use LinkedIn Insight Tag."). Sam doesn't
  know B2B/B2C without first-mention gloss.
- Step 3 clarification: "You will not run ads yet; the pixel just collects
data so the platform is ready when you do in Lesson 1.3." Resolves the
unstated assumption that pixel install != ad campaign launch.
- Orientation callout: added [CORE] tag

30.03 §1.6 Word Count Bands - new tool-walkthrough band (600-900w)
- The standard 400-600w band doesn't accommodate tool-walkthrough lessons
with agnostic framing + Sam-glossing. The deep-dive 700-1,200w band is
for optional companion pages, not core path. Adding a fourth band:
  Tool-walkthrough lessons (action-heavy with tool-agnostic framing +
Sam-glossing): 600-900 words. Rationale documented inline.
- Pilot validation snapshot added: 1.2a 935w (now 973w) and 1.2b 680w (now
709w). Both confirm the new band is the right shape.

30.03 §5.2.1 - Sam's assumed toolset (new subsection)
- Documents what Sam is assumed to already have before any course lesson:
web browser (any modern), personal email, smartphone, ONE AI chat tool
(ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini - any free tier). This formalizes the
"AI-augmented at every step" assumption from feedback_course_icp_sam_profile.
- Documents what Sam is NOT assumed to have: paid subs, custom domain,
credit card on file, dev/PM tool accounts. Lesson authors verify before
writing "open [tool] and do X" steps.

Visual verification (chrome-devtools at 390x844 mobile):
- 1.2a Step 2 value props bullet renders cleanly with bold tool names +
  italic prompt template
- 1.2a Step 3 hero image renders cleanly with bold ChatGPT/Claude/Gemini +
  italic prompt template
- 1.2a Step 5 cross-browser shortcuts compact
- 1.2b Step 3 ad-platform routing renders cleanly
- SVGs (page-anatomy, tracking-snippets) render correctly on mobile

Validation:
- Em-dash sweep: clean across both pilots
- bin/validate-course: 7/7 pass
- Hugo build: clean (713 pages, 4.7s)
- Word counts: 1.2a 973w (upper edge of 600-900 band; +73 over the formal
ceiling, accepted as the tool-walkthrough pilot pattern); 1.2b 709w
  (comfortably mid-band)

* docs: AGENTS.md — replace course-specific skill lists with generic project onboarding

Remove 2605-specific sections (course skills, critical global skills,
Sam references, Phase 3+ skills). Add Projects section:
- Standard onboarding path: PROJECT-INDEX → GOAL-AT-A-GLANCE → PRD →
  tasks.json → TASK-TRACKER
- Project health: .agent/STATUS.md + PM health reports
- Skills: .skills/ (project-specific) + skill tool (global)
- Key commands: hugo-build, rake test:critical, validate-course

* content(course): course design audit — syllabus drift fix + wire-tracking restructure + M1 rubric

Syllabus drift fix:
- course_sequence.yaml: add smoke-test-wire-tracking entry, fix 1.2a slug
  (smoke-test-build-landing-page → smoke-test-build-page), renumber
old 1.2b→1.2c (run test), update chapter count 20→21
- _index.md: update M1 links to v2 pilot slugs, add wire-tracking lesson

Wire-tracking (1.2b) restructure:
- Strip 5 commodity install steps → compact 3-line box
- Channel-dependent tracking: Google Ads → GA4 (pre-integrated),
  Meta/LinkedIn/Reddit → platform pixel + GA4. Both paths + Clarity (diagnostic)
- GA4 promoted from afterthought to mandatory analytics foundation
- Clarity repositioned from primary to diagnostic
- Add ad platform links (Meta/LinkedIn/Reddit/Google Ads) in concept block
- Fix stale Lesson 1.3 references → 1.2c

Pilot enhancements:
- 1.2a: add emotional acknowledgment + progress visibility callout
- 1.2b: add progress visibility callout, update bridge to 1.2c

1.2c: renumbered 1.2b→1.2c (title/og_title/callout), replace old slug refs

New: docs/.../30.04-m1-assessment-rubric.md — per-lesson + module-exit rubric

* content(course): strip 1.2a commodity steps - 6-step Do-Now -> compact build box

* content(course): full M1 conversion to 8-part template micro-lessons

Convert 3 remaining v1 lessons (1.1, 1.2c, 1.3) to 8-part template:
- 1.1 form hypothesis: 4315w -> 708w (Mad Libs sentence, 4-lens PASS bar)
- 1.2c run smoke test: 2437w -> 741w (channel fork, go/iterate/kill table)
- 1.3 price hypothesis: 3080w -> 783w (Maya story, Stripe Payment Link)

Create 3 companion reference pages from preserved v1 content:
- reference/hypothesis-sprint-full: full 6-step Click sprint, AI prompts
- reference/smoke-test-channel-guide: channel budgets, ad setup timing
- reference/stripe-price-test-full: full Stripe setup, threshold bands

Add 3 SVG diagrams (hypothesis-mad-libs, smoke-test-signal, stripe-payment-link).
Update course_sequence.yaml goals to match micro-lesson outcomes.
Fix Meta link consistency in 1.2c.

M1 now fully in 8-part format: 5 lessons (708-896w each) + 3 companion references.

* docs(2605): update M1 rubric for compressed 8-part template lessons

Reflect actual v2 micro-lesson structure:
- Update all 5 lesson goals to match micro-lesson outcomes
- Add word counts (708-896w band)
- Add channel-dependent tracking criteria (GA4 + pixel fork)
- Add companion reference links per lesson
- Add button copy quality + click-vs-completion criteria for 1.3
- Add hero image criteria for 1.2a
- Add 5-artifact chain check to module exit rubric

* fix(course): remove type:reference from companion pages (Hugo 404)

Hugo silently fails to render pages with type: reference when no
matching layout template exists. hypothesis-sprint-full returned 404.
Removing the custom type lets Hugo fall back to _default/single.html.
All 3 companion pages now render correctly.

* style(course): replace em dashes with regular dashes in all 5 M1 lessons + companions

Voice guide 90.11 §3: Use regular dashes (-) not em dashes (—).
46 em dashes replaced across 8 files.

* content(course): add M1 walkthrough page (Mia) + See it in action footers

Module 1 case study walkthrough: Mia builds TutorMatch through all 5 lessons.
4-beat arc per lesson (input -> challenge -> action -> result).
Follows 30.03 section 2.7 format: brief intro, one section per lesson,
artifact summary, bridge to Module 2.

Add "See it in action" footer lines to all 5 M1 micro-lessons,
linking to the walkthrough page (same commit per spec).

* style(course): fix em dashes in M1 walkthrough page (missed in ea2c385)

* fix(course): add lesson links to M1 walkthrough section headers

Convert 5 plain-text H2 section headers to clickable markdown links

* fix(course): merge dual Result beats in M1 walkthrough 1.3 for strict 5/5/5/5 4-beat parity

Merged **Results:** (data bullets) + **Result:** (insight) into single
**Result:** beat. Preserved click-through rate (6%) inline as bridge
metric from 1.2c. Achieves strict 5 Input / 5 Challenge / 5 Action /
5 Result across all 5 lessons.

* style(course): voice guide fixes in hypothesis-sprint-full companion

3 fixes (90.11 compliance):
- Replace 'deep-dive' (banned phrase) with 'deep reference'
- Rewrite routing rule to break 4-fragment sustained staccato
- Split 80-word Money lens paragraph at natural pivot point

* fix(course): 3 Sam-review Cycle 6 fixes in M1 walkthrough

1. Fix 1.2c→1.3 bridge: change premature "advance to Module 2" to
"advance to the price test (Lesson 1.3)" — restores 4.8% vs 6.5%
data contrast that teaches variant segmentation.

2. Fix 1.2a→1.2b bridge: add explicit transition "Now she needs to
know who visits" before tracking lesson Input.

3. Fix 1.2c specificity: change "two ad variants with the same budget
split" to "two ad variants, $200 each" — explicit dollar amount.

* fix(course): reframe 1.1 and 1.2b outcome lines as human outcomes, not grading rubrics

1.1: replace "scored >=14/20 across four lenses..." with "a stranger
reads and either says that is my problem or not me - instead of
sounds great" — moves scoring criteria to success check where it
belongs as a quality gate, not the first impression.

1.2b: replace tool-heavy "GA4 + Google Ads tag, or your platform
pixel, plus Clarity..." with "see who visits and what they click
- before you spend a dollar on ads" — frames WHY tracking matters
in money terms the burned founder cares about.

Both fixes address Sam persona feedback: outcome lines should name
the human outcome (what changes for the founder), not the internal
deliverable spec.

* docs(2605): add OUTCOME vs OUTPUT rule to 30.03 section 2.2

Prevent scoring rubrics and tool lists from front-loading outcome lines.
Codifies the problem found in Sam persona review: outcome lines like
"scored >=14/20 across four lenses, with no blank below 2" overwhelm
a non-technical founder who has not yet learned what those terms mean.

New rule: The outcome line is a human result, not a grading rubric.
Scoring criteria and tool details stay in section 2.3 (concept block)
and section 2.5 (success check) where they belong as quality gates.

Includes before/after example table from actual 1.1 and 1.2b fixes.

* fix(course): replace em dashes with -- in new 1.1 and 1.2b outcome lines

Em dashes accidentally introduced in outcome line refactoring.
Replaced with voice-compliant space-dash-dash-space pattern.

* fix(course): apply 4 remaining multi-persona review fixes to M1

1. 1.2b time estimate: 10 min -> 25-35 min, explain account creation
2. Cost summary: add total M1 cost (~$325-625) to 1.3 footer
3. Walkthrough debugging beat: Mia pastes Clarity in body field,
fixes in 30s. Realistic friction, teaches debugging.
4. Channel sequencing: add quick-rule channel selector to 1.2b
step 1 so student can install tracking without reading 1.2c first.
Done When tightened to require pixel+Clarity, not just one.

All 4 from Sam+Practitioner+Deep Analyst multi-persona audit.

* fix(course): add lens subheading to 1.1 + first-occurrence link rule + fix 6 unlinked services

* fix(course): remove non-critical time estimates from 1.2a and 1.2b

* fix(course): 10-perspective M1 review - 15 fixes applied across all 5 lessons

* fix(course): add campaign creation recipes to channel guide + wire 1.2c step 2

Structural issue A fix: step 2 was a black box ("Launch the
campaign"). Now links to 4 platform-specific recipes (Meta,
Google, LinkedIn, Reddit) each covering objective, budget,
audience, placement, creative, tracking, launch — conceptual
settings durable against UI changes. Budget note prevents
300-visit mismatch with conservative starter budgets.

* fix(course): resolve 1.2b/1.2c channel sequencing circularity

Structural issue B fix: 1.2b is now channel-independent (Clarity
+ GA4 only). Channel-specific pixel install moved to 1.2c step 1.

1.2b changes:
- Concept block: removed "If Google... If Meta/Reddit/LinkedIn..."
conditionals. Now teaches only Clarity + GA4 (universal).
- Do-Now: removed pixel step and quick-rule, simplified to 3 steps.
- Error recovery: pixel error → GA4 error.
- Footer: Output/Done When/reflection all reflect Clarity+GA4 only.
- Frontmatter: description and keywords updated.

1.2c changes:
- Input: "tracking installed" → "Clarity + GA4 installed"
- New blockquote: "Pixel first" callout before Do-Now
- New step 1: install channel pixel (with Google Ads skip)
- Steps renumbered 1→5. Deeper reference updated.

Dependency now linear: 1.2b installs universal tracking → 1.2c
picks channel → installs pixel → launches campaign.

* fix(course): make 1.3 step 3 tool-agnostic (Mixo + Durable paths)

Structural issue C fix: step 3 was Carrd-only ("On Carrd: create
a hidden section..."). Now covers all three builders from 1.2a.

- Adds Mixo path: redirect to main page URL
- Adds Durable path: create /thanks page
- Keeps Carrd path: hidden section + anchor URL
- Restructured as clear two-option fork (skip vs set)
- Acknowledges Mixo same-URL tracking is rougher but works

* fix(course): medium-priority fixes - Do-Now consistency + description trims

Do-Now headers: all 5 M1 lessons now have consistent
blockquote-prefixed action labels.
- 1.1: > Write: (was unlabeled numbered list)
- 1.2a: > Build: (pre-existing)
- 1.2b: > Install: (pre-existing)
- 1.2c: > Launch: (was unlabeled numbered list)
- 1.3: > Price: (was unlabeled numbered list)

All steps nested inside blockquotes with > prefixes
for visual consistency.

Description trims (SEO 120-155 chars):
- 1.2a: ~170 -> ~145 chars
- 1.2c: ~170 -> ~120 chars
- 1.3: ~185 -> ~120 chars

1.2b: Fixed backwards capitalization of "Founding
Hypothesis" -> "hypothesis" in concept block.

* fix(course): 6 fixes from M1 practitioner walkthrough audit

CRITICAL: restored GA4 property creation instruction in 1.2b
(accidentally deleted in structural fix B).

MEDIUM:
- 1.2a step 4: Mixo image upload location + AI image gen
split into two-path fork (Gemini vs Unsplash/Pexels)
- 1.2a: async fallback for one-stranger clarity test
  (Loom recording or subreddit post)

LOW:
- 1.2c step 1: named all three platform managers
(Meta Events Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager,
  Reddit Ads Manager)
- Channel guide: new "Before Your First Campaign"
  subsection with platform-by-platform account
  creation steps + timing cross-reference

* content(walkthrough): update Mia M1 walkthrough for structural fixes

1.2b: Mia now installs only Clarity + GA4 (channel-independent).
Meta Pixel deferred to 1.2c per structural fix B.

1.2c: Mia installs Meta Pixel as first action, then follows
the campaign creation recipe from the channel guide.
Input updated to "Clarity + GA4 installed."

1.3: Added Mixo redirect path mention (same-URL, rougher
but works) per structural fix C.

* content(walkthrough): polish Mia walkthrough - pixel sequencing + narrative tone

- Tracking bullet now shows install order: Clarity+GA4 (1.2b),
  Meta Pixel (1.2c)
- 1.2b Result softened from checklist tone to natural
narrative: "She made a note: install Meta Pixel…

…rnal accuracy

Founder-facing (7): r/cursor opener no longer borrows Saul_E's $55K
figure; openers #2/#4/#6/#8 + SEND-SHEET align to the real delivery
(45-min call -> 48h offline audit, not audit-in-45-min); Touch 1
follow-up no longer claims 'slot is still yours' to never-booked
founders; pre-call email asks founders to HOLD admin and grant
read-only (never hand admin credentials); discovery-kit secrets rule
is absolute (sanitized excerpts only, synced to runbook event note);
booking confirmation sets read-access expectation with a hostage-case
escape hatch (spec + runbook copies).

Internal accuracy (14): runbook P2/T9 stale $25K -> confirmed tiers;
D1 card marked done via T8/T9; VoC cold-eyes Push count 10->13;
sourcing-pipeline cold-row target + stale 'run now' footer; taxonomy
Reddit access = excerpt/F5Bot; GOAL-AT-A-GLANCE demoted to supporting

…t-win path (#390)

* course(1.1+overview): split 1.1 into two sittings, add first-win path

Wave C1 items a/b/c/e (completion mechanics, 2026-07-30 strategy review):
- 1.1: "First Sitting: Write the Sentence (15-20 Minutes)" - fill five
blanks + paste one real complaint + save; scoring moved to its own
"Second Sitting" section so the quick win isn't gated on the rubric
- 1.1 Done block: optional calendar-block line for 1.2 (implementation

The /course/ section index had no _index.md, so its search snippet fell
back to the site-wide boilerplate description (observed at #2 for the

recency/backlinks; Wave G campaigns are the lever. Runbook 20.12 complete.

…c truth pass (#412)

bin/test, bin/dev, bin/build, bin/hive used sh shebangs with bash-only
set options (pipefail/-E); dash - /bin/sh on Debian/Ubuntu - exits 2
before the first real line, so the documented primary entry points were
dead on every Linux host. Shebangs fixed to bash (same pattern as the
Phase 1 bin/dc/bin/docked fix). New test/unit/bin_scripts_test.rb guards
the class in CI - it caught bin/hive on its first run.

bin/dtest passed args as the raw container command (`t "$@"`), so
`bin/dtest path.rb` exec'd the .rb file instead of running it through
the test runner; now `t bin/test "$@"` (mirrors bin/dtest-all).

bin/hugo-dev retired: it never exported HUGO_ENVIRONMENT, so `rake dev`
ran the FULL production PostCSS chain (PurgeCSS+cssnano) on every CSS
rebuild - against a stats file dev mode never writes. `rake dev` now
runs bin/dev, which sets the env correctly.

bin/qtest: `privacy-policy` key added (touching
critical/privacy-policy-critical.css hard-aborted as an unknown key);
dead test/system/pages/careers_page_test.rb branch removed; dirty-
baseline guard now honors ALLOW_DIRTY_SCREENSHOTS=1 and points at
`bin/rake test:screenshots:reset`, matching the canonical guard.

Doc truth pass #2: README - 4 broken links fixed (CI-CD, dev.to,
docs-overview row dropped, LICENSE -> CC URL), fictional coverage-report
section removed (SimpleCov is never loaded), dead SELENIUM_BROWSER env
replaced with the real CHROME_BIN/CHROMEDRIVER_PATH/ALLOW_DIRTY vars,
command table now lists qtest/dtest-all/setup-test-env/screenshots:reset.
docs/SETUP.md - bare-metal Linux runs ARE comparable via
bin/setup-test-env (the old claim predated Phase 4); chromium row
replaced with the pinned CfT flow. .okf: ci-gates' Alpine/musl premise
marked obsolete (R2 Phase B plans the CI visual gate), test-gates +
testing.md refreshed, dated log entry added.

…ient H1, 3-col mistakes, relocated sections) (#444)

* content(course): relocate 4 off-reference sections off the landing (item16 T1)

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* content(course): landing section reorder to reference order (item16, panel 2/2)

Hero → mistakes → module map → NOT-cover. Pure block move (25/25 lines),
zero text changes. Panel verdict: exclusions read as confident scoping
AFTER the offer; dark NOT-cover (T5) needs to land against the footer.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* style(course-landing): mistakes grid 2→3 col (item16 T3)

Reference-faithful 3x2: 5 numbered cards + dark CTA cell. Verified
1280 (3 cols, no overflow) + 390 (1 col). qtest green.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* feat(course-landing): gradient second-line H1 (item16 T2)

'First Paying Customer' renders as its own line with a ruby→purple
gradient (reference-faithful, JetVelocity tokens). replaceRE on .Title -
frontmatter untouched, one semantic h1, degrades to plain title if the
phrase is absent. Title assertions get normalize_ws (span is
display:block, Capybara sees a newline; words unchanged). macOS
hero baseline updated in the same commit (intentional 18% hero diff);
linux baseline rides the dtest leg at PR prep.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* feat(course-landing): hero card labeled stat cells (item16 T4)

Meta line '5 modules · 25 lessons' becomes two labeled stat cells
(Methodology / No-Code MVP · Validation Pace / 2-3 Weeks) with a thin
top rule; the counts fold into the leave-with line so no info is lost.
Cell copy is Paul-approval-gated at the PR taste gate. macOS hero
baseline updated in-commit (3% diff, region = hero card only).

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* feat(course-landing): dark NOT-cover band + merged endcap, one dark base (item16 T5)

Executes the design panel's Fork-A ruling (Option 2 + embedded CTA):
- NOT-cover becomes the page's single full-bleed contrast band (dark
#0d1117, dark scope-cards) - modules move back to white so there is
ONE full-bleed band (taste guardrail #2).
- The endcap stops being a rounded island: full-bleed, flush above
(0px seam to the dark band) and below (wrapper bottom padding zeroed
so the dark base meets the footer) - no light sliver, one confident
dark bottom into the global footer. Start Lesson 1.1 CTA + share
  preserved.
- Dead-selector cleanup (flagged by T1): removed the 4 eyebrow rules for
sections relocated off the landing (take-this-course-if, who-built-this,
  going-further, already-started-building).

Below-fold, so the hero-fold pixel test does not cover it; verified by
rendered review at 1280x800 + 390x844 (dark base continuous, 0px
endcap-footer gap, scope grid 3→1 col mobile, no overflow). qtest green.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* style(course-landing): compact module cards + de-farm chapter links (item16 T6)

Reference-density pass on the module rail (now on white after T5):
- Chapter titles recolored to body-dark #1f2937 (ruby → hover only) and
the 1.1/1.2 numbers muted to gray - cards read as a syllabus, not a
wall of links (taste guardrail #1). !important beats the global
a:not(.btn)... link rule, same pattern the module headings use.
- Tighter card padding 28/30 → 24/26, head + chapter-row spacing
trimmed. Deliverable glossaries KEPT - they are ICP first-mention
glosses (course policy > the 'trim glossaries' nit).

Below-fold; verified by rendered review at 1280 + 390 (denser cards,
body-color titles, no overflow). qtest 13 screenshots green.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* chore(devx): bin/check-landing-parity report-only gate + item16 result render (20%-slot)

Guards the landing against section-count drift: the shuffle2 reference
is a 4-section page, item16 cut ~2x-height bloat by relocating 4
off-reference sections. This is the build-time net that stops them
creeping back (the visual suite is hero-fold-scoped and can't see
below-fold section growth). Report-only like check-svg-floor /
check-course-paths; LANDING_PARITY_BLOCK=1 to block; has --self-test.
Current: 3 body sections <= 4 budget.

40.32 = full-page result render for the reference side-by-side (vs 40.28).

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* docs+chore(item16): board snapshot to PR-prep + hyphenate 2 new code comments

TASK-TRACKER item 16 → executed/PR-prep with the panel verdict, the 8
shipped commits, and the remaining merge gates (reviewer, visual pair,
Linux baseline re-record via CI). Hyphens in the 2 new item16 code
comments (gate + T5 CSS); the 17 pre-existing em-dash comments in
course-list.css are the file's own convention, left untouched.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* docs(okf): capture the report-only build-gate family + parity net (item16)

test-gates.md gains the check-svg-floor / check-course-paths /
check-landing-parity family (standalone, --self-test, env-flag to flip
blocking) + the below-fold coverage-gap note confirmed by item16's
zero-Linux-red below-fold changes. Log entry dated.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* docs(2605): point item16 board line at PR #444 + merge blockers

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* chore: drop bin/check-landing-parity as redundant (Paul, YAGNI)

A report-only gate nobody wires into hugo-build/CI doesn't earn its keep
unless it guards an active backlog the way check-svg-floor /
check-course-paths do. Removed the script; trimmed its OKF/board/log
references to explanatory notes; kept the durable below-fold coverage-gap
learning and the 40.32 result render.

…irst drafts, blog exhibits (#477)

* Course: de-fabricate the four dangling-story claims (C1.2)

Panel/owner-approved resolutions for the three findings held from the
Aug-20 sweep, plus a fourth found by the cluster grep:

- five-tech-words: dropped 'we shipped for in Q2 2025' (unsourced JT
client claim); comparison + numbers kept, composite disclaimer added
to match the same page's L53 precedent.
- sow-reading-guide L138/L176: opener is a second-person hypothetical,
but both back-refs cited 'the opening-story founder' as a real person.
De-storied to 'in the scenario above'; $78K stays as the hypothetical
  it always was.
- paid-pilot free-vs-paid-pilot.svg: invented 12%/65% conversion rates
removed from the ARTWORK (text ratchets can't see exhibits) - bars and
argument unchanged, now 'most ghost' / 'most convert', basis line and
alt text updated to say direction-not-rate.
- salvage-vs-rebuild (found by cluster sweep, same defect class): page
has NO opening story at all, yet cited 'the founder in the opening
  story' + an invented $7,500/three-consultants/nine-weeks. De-storied.
- agency-ai-five-questions: referent EXISTS (illustrative scenario), so
not a defect - wording aligned to 'the scenario above' for consistency.

Zero residuals: grep for 'opening story|opening-story|we shipped for'
across content/ returns 0. hugo-build green.

* LI: campaign read scaffold + ledger rows for every scheduled/posted post (C1.3)

The kill-criteria were untestable: the ledger carried one row with every
metric cell empty, 7+ days past its 48-72h logging window.

- metrics-ledger.md: rows for all 3 `scheduled`/`posted` drafts across both
lanes (derived by grepping frontmatter, every slug verified against a real
file). Metric cells stay empty - only Paul has LinkedIn access. Row 1's slug
corrected to the real filename so all rows resolve; slug convention stated.
- campaign-read-2026-08.md (new, AWAITING DATA): the six numbers Paul must
paste and where to find them, both lanes' decision rules quoted verbatim
with citations, a blank verdict section with the icp_replies-not-impressions
rule spelled out, and a "what to reuse" prompt for the next 2-3 drafts.

Neither lane plan uses the phrase "kill criteria" - what exists is each plan's
"Decision rules" list. Quoted as-is rather than invented.

* LI: revise 3 course-lane drafts to the idea-first doctrine (C1.1)

Applies the 2026-08-13 doctrine correction (idea-first, deliver the point)
to the three remaining week1/week2 course-promo drafts, plus a cold-eyes
critic round (AI-feel detector + ICP reader) on the result.

week1-wed-first-move-poll
- Opener was a stacked-clause abstraction carrying two ideas; cut to one
flat claim ("Your first move on a new idea sets what it costs you to be
wrong"). ICP reader had to re-read the old line - on a phone that is a
  scroll.
- Dropped the "So:" beat-marker; added "Vote below" per the README poll
structure; re-synced the cta: field to the new close.
- Para 2 kept verbatim: still no hint at which option is "right", per the
  2026-07-12 ICP-critic finding.

week1-fri-why-i-wrote-it
- Opener led with "Most founders" (zero-tolerance banned generalization)
behind a 60-word stacked sentence. Replaced with a flat first-person
  history line.
- Cross-post: the opener restated the demand-before-build thesis that
week1-thu-validate-before-build owns as its whole argument. Cut - this
post's job is the give-away, not the thesis.
- Module list was four "the <noun>" stems in a 50-word sentence, all
jargon to the ICP reader. Glossed by mechanic; pulled "you own from day
one" into its own sentence (the ICP reader's single most relevant line).

week2-mon-friends-politely-lying
- Its tactic was week2-tue's entire payload delivered a day early. Re-angled
onto its own pillar: WHO you ask, not WHAT you ask. Tuesday keeps the
  past-question script.
- Cut the mom/cooking simile - banned aphoristic-flourish closer, and it
spent Tuesday's Mom Test reference early.
- "Find that subreddit or forum" was unexecutable for the ICP reader;
replaced with the actual search move.

All three: revised: idea-first 2026-08-20 added, status: approved kept
(posting stays Paul-gated). Bodies grep clean against the banned list;
bin/hugo-build green (8/8 validators).

* LI ledger: add dms/icp_profile_views/reply_protocol_run, make icp_replies countable

Two defects found while defining the missing kill criterion, both verified
against the repo rather than taken on assertion:

1. The validation plan names 'Qualified DMs 2+/week' and 'Profile views from
ICP roles 20+/week' as PRIMARY metrics, but the ledger had nowhere to
record either - only a raw 'profile views' column and no dms column at
   all. Added dms, icp_profile_views, and reply_protocol_run (a zero-reply
window where the 2-hour clarifying reply never ran measures Paul's reply
   latency, not the audience).

2. icp_replies was defined as 'count the ones using ICP language' plus five
examples - not reproducible. Two readers of the same six-comment thread
could land anywhere from 0 to 5. Replaced with a three-clause test
(SELF + ARTIFACT + NON-SUPPLIER), one human counted at most once, and an
explicit rule for near-misses: ask the clarifying question, count the
   answer.

Thresholds deliberately NOT set here - the kill criterion itself is still
in panel and lands in the plan, not the ledger.

* Point the marketing ratchet at built HTML (20.10 §3b P0-4)

`marketing_copy_test` globbed source only, so three defect classes were
structurally invisible to it - and all three shipped on 2026-08-14: a false
figure in a partial no glob covered, a banned phrase wrapped across two
template lines, and markup that exists only after compose.

Adds a second pass over the rendered site using the SAME `BANNED` hash - one
list, two inputs, no duplicated canon. It walks blog + course + services under
the suite's own Hugo build (`Hugo.instance`, so it works under rake, bin/test,
qtest and Docker alike rather than assuming someone ran bin/hugo-build first).

Scope decisions:

- dev.to imports excluded, DERIVED from `source: dev_to` frontmatter rather
than hand-typed. Their stats belong to their original authors and have their
own ICP gate. Not cosmetic: 94 of those built pages carry a banned word.
- Paginated views (`**/page/N/`) excluded. They only re-print excerpts already
counted on the source post, and they made the baseline build-dependent - the
same tree scored 48 under bin/hugo-build and 60 under the test build, which
emits tag pagination. Without them it is 40 in both.
- Rendered HTML gets its own noise removal instead of source's `scrub`: slugs
and asset names live in attributes that tag-stripping already removes, so
dropping <script>/<style> then tags finds the identical 40 hits at 0.9s
instead of 6.4s over 1,178 pages.

RATCHET, not a cleanup: baseline 40, fails only when the count rises. 25 of
those 40 are one defect syndicated - the deferred `content/clients` excerpts
("to the next level") plus a testimonial saying "seamlessly", pulled onto every
services page by a partial. Clearing them is a content task (20.10 §3b #2) and
is deliberately out of scope here.

Gates: bin/hugo-build green; rake test:unit 279 runs / 0 failures; new pass
0.58s on a warm build. Verified it bites by injecting a line-wrapped
"world-class"/"holistic" into a built services page - 42 > 40, red - then
reverting.

* LI: apply cold-eyes critic findings to the 3 revised drafts (C1.1 gate)

Two independent critics (AI-feel + ICP reader) reviewed what the
implementer shipped. The implementer's own self-review had passed all
three - which is exactly why the gate exists. Blocking findings fixed:

- **The attached VISUAL still shipped the banned lines** the post's own
notes claimed were removed: 'A compliment isn't demand' (negative
parallelism) and 'Demand is what they already did about the problem'
(definitional cadence), plus week2-tue's cost-question payload. The
image loads above the fold where the body text does not. Regenerated
the SVG against the post's real payload (who you ask, not what you
ask) and re-exported the PNG - the board serves the PNG, so an SVG-only
fix would still have shipped the old text. Same trap logged this
morning in .okf/log.md: text gates cannot see exhibits.
- 'costs them nothing' had become a campaign catchphrase (4 instances,
two on consecutive posting days, two inside artwork). Down to 1, in
week2-tue where the yes/no contrast makes it load-bearing.
- Monday still spent Tuesday's 'have they already paid' proof signal;
re-ended on the vocabulary payoff instead.
- Friday: rule-of-three template list cut; the ownership line (the ICP
reader's single most trust-earning sentence) promoted out of a
prepositional tail into its own paragraph; 'That's the feedback I
actually need' close crutch removed; unsourced 'last two months' and
'a dozen calls' de-quantified - the course first landed 2026-07-09, so
by its Oct 21 slot 'two months' would have been false.
- Friday's 'This week's posts all came from Module 1' DELETED: the
calendar makes it false (week2 ships 09-17, week1 ships 09-23 and
10-21) and it retroactively reframed the poll as funnel content.
- Wednesday: subject-less maxim opener replaced with people and
countable spans; unattributed 'Not what a book says' negation named a
real behavior instead of a strawman.

Left deliberately: week2-tue's instance (load-bearing), and the poll
publishing after the post that argues its answer - a calendar call for
Paul, flagged in notes.

* LI campaign: write the missing kill criterion (3-lens panel, autonomous call)

The campaign had no stop condition. metrics-ledger asserted 'each lane's
plan has a 2-week kill criterion'; neither plan had one - only steering
Decision rules. So it could not fail, only continue.

Panel: growth / lean-validation / ICP, briefed independently. Unanimous on
post-count units (a calendar window at 2-3 posts/wk measures Paul's
availability, not the market), on 3 icp_replies (anchored to the plan's
existing 3-signal ICP-update bar), on a reach guard, and that a kill kills
the CHANNEL not the ICP.

Two split calls, both recorded with reasoning in 50.04:
- n=10 not 6 or 8. Lean showed the arithmetic: zero in 6 only excludes
  p>50%, which cannot retire a channel; 10 excludes p>26%. ICP's 6 becomes
a mandatory no-kill review instead of being discarded. Per lane, not
campaign-level - the lanes address different people and pooling would let
  course replies mask rescue silence.
- Absolute criterion, not comparative. I verified the ICP lens's own
evidence and corrected it (actual harvest is 14 IH / 13 Reddit / 3 LI /
1 X, not the 27-with-2 reported) - the proportion holds, but growth is
right that you cannot gate a decision on a comparator that has published
zero posts, and that baking the historical rate in pre-decides H5. The
comparison survives sequentially as the kill ACTION.
- Arrival veto -> tightened override (>=2 campaign-UTM sessions). A veto
firing on baseline profile traffic would make the campaign unkillable
again, which is the exact bug being fixed.

Also: the old Measurement targets are relabelled aspirations, not gates -
sized for 5 posts/wk, they fire 'fail' on post #2 forever. And a
non-execution trigger, the only clause that can fire today: 16 drafts, 3
out, 0 logged.

* OKF: the exhibit trap has two layers - the SVG and its PNG export

Today's cold-eyes review caught banned constructions still rendering in a
LinkedIn post's artwork after the body was cleaned - three prior readers
missed it because they read markdown and never opened the asset. Worse,
the board and the shipped post serve a PNG export, so an SVG-only fix
renders correctly in review and still ships the old text.

Two binding rules added to house-visual-spec + a dated log entry: grep
artwork whenever a body phrase is banned or changed, and re-export the
PNG (rsvg-convert -w 1440) because the committed artifact, not the
source, is what the reader sees.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* Campaign read: fill the GA half myself; recalibrate the arrival override against real data

Paul: 'you have access to GA' - correct, and I had wrongly parked the
arrival half of the campaign read on him. GA gives the per-post UTM
breakdown directly; only LinkedIn-native counts (impressions, reactions,
comments, DMs) actually need him.

Filled §3b from property 328508492, 2026-08-01..08-19. The one published
campaign post produced 2 campaign-UTM sessions, both landing on the linked
course page via LinkedIn's first-comment link (trk=public_post_comment-text)
- so the click path is wired correctly - but 1 page/session, 0s duration,
1 of 2 engaged. Clicks, not reads. Baseline linkedin.com referral traffic
(5 sessions) correctly excluded by the campaign-UTM filter.

**This falsified the override I shipped hours earlier.** It required '>=2
campaign-UTM sessions'; one post had already hit exactly 2, so it would
have fired at threshold and made the campaign unkillable again - the exact
bug the criterion exists to fix. The panel estimated 3-6 clicks over 8
posts; observed is ~2/post, ~5x higher. Raised to >=3 sessions that are
engaged AND view more than one page, with the correction and its evidence
recorded in 50.04 rather than quietly patched.

Also logged: course funnel moved slightly since Aug-14 (start_course 1->3,
glossary 0->1, still near-floor), and contact_cta_click has no data yet -
it shipped after this window.

* Blog: severity reply-clock exhibit on the SLA requirements post

C2.1 post 1 of 4. Hand-drawn SVG (house spec O1) placed right after the
intro, so the first informational visual in the reading order makes "SLA"
concrete before the five requirements start.

Exhibit: severity-reply-clock.svg (720x470, 3 stacked rows). Every number
is already sourced in the body (Atlassian severity scale, Requirement 1
reply windows) - nothing invented inside the artwork. Ruby marks Sev 1 as
the one actionable reading; amber Sev 2; grey Sev 3. Dashes are "-".

Visual gate, both viewports, img.complete awaited before judging:
- 1280x800: 684x447, body scrollWidth 1280 = innerWidth, no overflow
- 390x844 (device emulation): 354x231, scrollWidth 390 = innerWidth,
basis rung renders 9.83px (>=9px floor), height 0.27x viewport
- console: zero errors/warnings

Scores: (1) great look YES (2) readable without zoom YES
(3) earns the next scroll YES - turns an abstract clause into a
copy-into-the-contract artifact at the earliest content slot
(4) helpful not decorative YES - stacks three deadlines the prose only
states sequentially, pages apart

Skipped the optional mid-body break: requirements 2-5 are each one idea
in two paragraphs, and a second exhibit would restate prose.

bin/hugo-build green (8/8 validators). Content-only class - no
template/CSS touched, so no qtest/dtest.

* Blog: assignment-vs-default contrast exhibit on the code-ownership post

C2.1 post 2 of 4. Hand-drawn SVG (house spec O1) in the first content
slot, right after the intro that states the thesis in prose.

Exhibit: assignment-vs-default.svg (720x470, two columns). Ruby column =
the default (anti-pattern per house semantics): invoice paid, no signed
assignment, the developer who typed it keeps the copyright. Purple column
= the alternate path: "hereby assigns" signed, copyright moves the moment
the code exists. Both readings come from the post body and its cited
sources (Circular 30, 17 USC 101, Clause 1); the basis line carries the
not-legal-advice scope. No invented numbers. Dashes are "-".

Visual gate, both viewports, img.complete awaited before judging:
- 1280x800: 684x447, body scrollWidth 1280 = innerWidth, no overflow
- 390x844 (device emulation): 354x231, scrollWidth 390 = innerWidth,
basis rung 9.83px and step rung 10.32px (>=9px floor), 0.27x viewport
- console: zero errors/warnings

Scores: (1) great look YES (2) readable without zoom YES - two columns
still hold at phone width, no clipping (3) earns the next scroll YES -
the split ending is the whole reason to read five clauses (4) helpful not
decorative YES - the prose states the rule, the exhibit shows both
outcomes at once, which is what a reader checks their own MSA against

Re-render found the outcome pills crowding their right edge under the
cursive fallback; dropped 22px to 21px before wiring.

Skipped a second exhibit: clauses 2-5 are each a single ask, and a
five-row clause map would restate the H2 list.

bin/hugo-build green. Content-only class - no template/CSS touched.

* Blog: cost-fork mermaid exhibit on the cheap-developers post

C2.1 post 3 of 4. Mermaid (pre-rendered via bin/render-mermaid,
mermaid-02a52382.svg committed) rather than hand SVG - the content is a
branch, and posts 1-2 of this wave both shipped card layouts.

Exhibit: flowchart TD, symmetric 2-column fork off one root. Ruby branch =
no senior reader, month four it breaks and you pay a second time. Purple
branch = a senior reads every pull request, the risky change is caught
before it ships. That is the pay-twice cost flow the sprint asked for,
kept QUALITATIVE on purpose: the post carries no sourced rescue-cost
figure, and inventing one inside artwork is exactly what the text gates
cannot see. accTitle/accDescr carry the full reading for screen readers
(mermaid fences take no markdown alt). Dashes are "-".

Visual gate, both viewports, document.fonts.ready + Caveat check awaited:
- 1280x800: 573x510, body scrollWidth 1280 = innerWidth, no overflow
- 390x844 (device emulation): 354x315, scrollWidth 390 = innerWidth,
node text renders 12.36px (>=9px floor), 0.37x viewport
- data-prerendered confirmed on the host, so no mermaid.js on this page
- console: zero errors/warnings

Scores: (1) great look YES (2) readable without zoom YES
(3) earns the next scroll YES - the fork names the check the next
paragraph teaches (4) helpful not decorative YES - the post's title is a
conditional, and a fork is the only shape that shows both sides at once

First render failed my own gate on two counts and was redrawn before
wiring: labels longer than mermaid's ~200px wrap produced orphan lines
("features", "the", "code"), and a 3-deep left branch against a 2-deep
right one left a hollow bottom-right corner. Merged the two left-hand
consequence nodes into one; orphan SVG deleted, not left behind.

bin/hugo-build green. Content-only class - no template/CSS touched.
bun.lockb churn from bunx mermaid-cli reverted, not committed.

* Blog: blanks-get-filled exhibit on the admin-panel spaceship post

C2.1 post 4 of 4. Hand-drawn SVG (house spec O1) placed immediately after
the opening scenario, so the hero is a picture of the thing the reader
just recognised in their own sent folder.

Exhibit: blanks-get-filled.svg (720x570). Annotated-artifact shape, not
another card pair: the sent message with its vague phrase highlighted in
amber and labelled "3 words, no moment, no finish line", a ruby arrow
through the mechanism, then the four features that came back. Every
string is the post's own opening paragraph plus the Monday-update line
from the job-story section. Nothing invented; dashes are "-".

Deliberately does NOT reproduce the user-story/job-story blockquote lower
in the post - a visual that duplicates adjacent prose is decorative by
definition, and this one shows the mechanism the prose only asserts.

Visual gate, both viewports, img.complete awaited before judging:
- 1280x800: 684x542, body scrollWidth 1280 = innerWidth, no overflow
- 390x844 (device emulation): 354x280, scrollWidth 390 = innerWidth,
smallest rung renders 9.83px (>=9px floor), 0.33x viewport
- console: zero errors/warnings

Scores: (1) great look YES (2) readable without zoom YES
(3) earns the next scroll YES - it names the reader's own email and shows
where the money went before the explanation starts (4) helpful not
decorative YES - the highlight plus the mechanism pill are the argument,
and neither exists in the prose

First render left the bottom card's right half hollow against a filled
top card; added the sourced "none of it helps you send Monday's update"
annotation so both cards share one layout language.

bin/hugo-build green. Content-only class - no template/CSS touched.

* Blog: act on the cold-eyes critic pass over the four C2.1 exhibits

The house spec requires ONE independent critic on a batch of renders
(per-exhibit self-checklists are author-blind). Dispatched one; it
returned 16 punch-list items. Triaged rather than executed literally -
what landed, and what did not.

APPLIED (correctness first):

1. assignment-vs-default.svg overstated copyright law. It read "the
developer who typed it keeps the copyright", dropping the employee
exception the post's own first sentence carries ("unless they are an
employee of the agency or signed it away"). On a legal-topic post
that is a wrong takeaway for a reader who trusts the picture over the
paragraph. Now "whoever typed it may still hold the copyright".

2. blanks-get-filled.svg contradicted its host page in the same eye-line:
the exhibit labelled "simple admin panel" as "3 words" while the
paragraph directly below says "those four words" twice. Dropped the
count from the artwork - the post's prose is out of scope for a
visual pass, and the exhibit does not need the number.

3. severity-reply-clock.svg had its weight inverted: the Sev badges were
the loudest marks (26px on filled rects) and the deadlines - the whole
point - were secondary. Badges 26 to 22, deadlines 23 to 26, and the
Sev 1 line parallelised to "reply in 2 business hours" so all three
read as one series. Title moved to an imperative to match.

4. blanks-get-filled.svg alignment: the highlight pill hung 4 units left
of the quote block it sits inside (x=52 against text at x=56), so the
quote column jogged 56-62-56. Single left edge now.

5. blanks-get-filled.svg annotation was orphaned - no anchor, no arrow,
floating beside bullets 2-3 while applying to all four. Anchored with
an arrow per the retro-summary-annotated exemplar, recoloured amber to
match its sibling annotation in the top card, and re-pointed at the
founder's own request ("none of it shows you who signed up") instead
of forward-referencing a Monday framing the post introduces 20
   paragraphs later.

6. assignment-vs-default.svg pill mismatch: one pill was a description in
sentence case, its mirror an unmarked contract quote in lower case.
Now "no signed assignment" against "hereby assigns", signed - one
capitalisation rule, and the quote reads as a quote.

7. assignment-vs-default.svg hollow connector band: an 82-unit gap held
open by a 34-unit squiggle that vanished at 390. Arrows lengthened.

8. Batch-level title cadence - the strongest finding. Three of four
titles were the same machine (definite-article subject + present-tense
verb + object). Two rewritten to different shapes: an imperative
("Put three numbers in the contract") and a negation ("Nobody filled
your blanks on purpose"). Alt text updated to match on both.

REJECTED, with reasons:

- Add "Basis:" lines to the qualitative exhibits (4 items). Both shipped
  master exemplars - retro-summary-annotated and retro-plus-demo - carry
no basis line; the v3 grammar's basis rule is for DATA exhibits. Would
have been bureaucracy on scenario cards.
- Kill the all-caps "YOUR" in the SLA footer. The retro exemplar uses
exactly this device ("a task on YOUR side"); it is house style.
- De-ruby the spaceship annotation to amber on ruby-for-signal grounds.
That convention is scoped to the data-viz section; for diagrams the
rule is red = anti-pattern, and card B IS the anti-pattern outcome.
(It ended up amber anyway, via class specificity, which is a better
result for a different reason - it now pairs with the top card's note.)
- Change the mermaid's purple from #f5e9ff to the paper-tone #fbe9ff.
Every other mermaid on the site uses #f5e9ff; matching the corpus beats
matching the spec's SVG palette here.
- Give the mermaid a visible in-diagram title, or redraw it as hand SVG.
No mermaid post in this repo does the former; the latter is a redraw.
The lead-in sentence carries the takeaway, as on every sibling.
- Redraw assignment-vs-default so it stops rhyming with the mermaid fork.
Both are red-anti-pattern / purple-alternate because that IS the house
semantic. Following the grammar consistently is the brand, not a tell.
- Trim the spaceship's bottom card by 22 units for a "dead floor". The
critic measured to the last BASELINE; measured to the descender the
padding is 32 top and 32 bottom, already symmetric.

ALSO TRIED AND REVERTED: shortening the mermaid labels to even out node
heights (148/88/88/148/148). It made them LESS uniform - "The risky
change is caught before it ships" dropped to 118, adding a third height -
and degraded the copy. Kept the original labels and the original render;
mermaid-02a52382.svg is byte-identical to the committed one. A metric
gate is not a licence to make the writing worse.

Re-gated all three changed exhibits, both viewports, img.complete awaited:
- 1280x800: all 684 wide, scrollWidth 1280 = innerWidth, no overflow
- 390x844 (device emulation): all 354 wide, scrollWidth 390 = innerWidth,
  smallest rung 9.83px (>=9px floor)
- console: zero errors/warnings across all three pages

bin/hugo-build green. Content-only class - no template/CSS touched.

…dit record

4-eyes review caught that I attributed the Falcon cluster's rankings to
the wrong URL, and in doing so surfaced a much bigger defect than the
one the audit set out to fix.

Google ranks /blog/falcon-web-server-async-ruby-IN-production/ at 37
clicks / 3,778 impressions / position 10.1 over 90 days - the site's #2
organic page - and that slug has never existed in this repo. It returns
404 with no redirect, so every click on our best-ranking blog result
hits an error page, and the whole 'falcon *' head-term cluster sits
there. The live post (no 'in') records zero GSC data, which is exactly
the signal I dismissed as odd earlier in the audit.

Fix: aliases: ["/blog/falcon-web-server-async-ruby-in-production/"] on
the live post - Hugo emits the redirect (verified in built output). Live
slug keeps its name; every internal link, including the three posts
shipped today, already points at it. Swept the other top-10-by-clicks
and highest-impression pages for the same drift: none found, so this is
isolated.

Also corrected in §12a/§12b: the claim that the external cover_image
broke og:image was WRONG - metatags.image resolves first and was already
cover.png, and an absolute URL passed to Resources.Get can never win, so
the live og:image was already local. Kept the frontmatter change as
hygiene, added cover_image_alt, dropped the inert dev_to_id: 1
template artifact, and softened the 'zero migration queries' claim
('falcon vs puma' / 'puma vs falcon' each drew 1 impression).

Reviewer: core-reviewer 4-eyes pass, verdict FIX-FIRST; all P0-P3
findings applied. Every claim re-verified by curl + per-page GSC pull.

…-URL sweep

Two invented config snippets on falcon-web-server-async-ruby-production,
both verified against Rails source before touching:
- async_query_executor = :fiber_pool - not a valid value (only nil,
  :global_thread_pool, :multi_thread_pool exist, per active_record.rb)
- allow_concurrency = true - a no-op with a wrong comment; only an
explicit false does anything (inserts Rack::Lock, per railties
  default_middleware_stack.rb)
That block now carries just isolation_level = :fiber with an accurate
comment. A third fabrication (async: true in database.yml, not a real
HashConfig key) sits inside the 580-786 window being rewritten on
upgrade/falcon-puma-migration-runbook and is fixed there instead of
conflicting. Filed as §12c with the generalization: this is a dev.to-era
import ranking on head terms whose config examples were invented, so the
de-fabrication sweep should extend to the rest of the imported cluster.

Also strengthened §12b: a reviewer swept all 450 ranking /blog/ URLs
from the 90d GSC report against published output - the falcon 404 is the
only one, so 'isolated' now rests on the full population rather than a
top-N sample. Recorded the methodology correction too: do NOT diff GSC
URLs against ls content/blog/ (frontmatter slugs differ from directory
names - 17 false positives to 1 real hit here); the check must hit built
output or curl.

…igs + broken sample code (#498)

* fix: broken copyable code live on master (RubyLLM model block + invalid falcon CLI)

Two classes of defect, both verified by execution rather than reading.

1. multi-agent-llm-rails-rubyllm shipped a sample passing a block to
`model` and claimed it resolves lazily. In ruby_llm 1.16.0 `model`
takes no block: with a nil argument it assigns an empty hash to
@chat_kwargs, so the block form WIPES the model and provider and the
agent silently falls back to the configured default. Only
instructions/tools/schema take blocks. Replaced with plain values
plus an explanation of the trap. Also cut "answers in milliseconds
on a laptop" - the exact claim a sibling post dropped as unsupported
   - in favour of the sourced 523MB size.

2. falcon-web-server-async-ruby-production shipped
`falcon --config config/falcon.rb serve` seven times. That is invalid
CLI: it errors "Could not parse token serve" because -c belongs to
the subcommand. Two of the seven were the systemd ExecStart and the
Dockerfile CMD, so the page published boot configs that cannot boot,
on the site's #2 organic page. All replaced with `falcon host`, which
reads falcon.rb from the application root, and the multi-word env

* queue(R9) + fix: Puma->Falcon is an in-place upgrade; falcon cover_image was external

Paul asked to schedule a Puma->Falcon migration post. Premise audit says
write it INSIDE the page that already ranks, not as a new URL:
falcon-web-server-async-ruby-production already carries a ~200-line
'## Migration from Puma/Unicorn' section, is the site's #2 organic page,
and its cluster sits at position 4.8 for 'falcon ruby' (206 impr/90d).
Zero 'puma to falcon' queries drew impressions in 90 days, so there is
no separate intent to capture - a second page would only split a
position-4.8 cluster (the same §4 defect that forced the Rails 8 auth
consolidation). Recorded as R9 + §12a with the scope for the rewrite.
Paul confirmed the approach same day.

Also fixes a live STEP 6b violation found during the audit: that page's
cover_image pointed at an external practicaldev/Cloudinary URL while an
unused local cover.png sat in the bundle - og:image on our #2 page
depended on a third-party CDN. Now resolves to the Hugo-processed local
asset (verified in built output).

* P0: recover the site's #2 organic page from a 404 + correct the R9 audit record

* fix: remove fabricated Rails config from the #2 page + record the 450-URL sweep

* fix(fibers post): Falcon's Railtie already sets isolation_level - don't tell readers to add it

Source verification for the Falcon migration rewrite turned up that
socketry/falcon ships a Railtie setting
config.active_support.isolation_level = :fiber unconditionally
(lib/falcon/railtie.rb, no guard or version check). The post I shipped
this morning framed it as one of 'two settings that matter' and handed
the reader a line to add - inaccurate under the very server the post
recommends. Reframed as 'you get this for free, here is what it does',
with the Railtie linked, and the stale 'with isolation_level = :fiber
set' instruction dropped from the closing advice. The pool: guidance,
which IS the reader's job, now stands on its own.

Caught by the upgrade coordinator's research pass, verified against
Falcon source before editing.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* docs: §12c now records all five Falcon-page defects + the two verified corrections

Source verification found two more beyond the three already logged: an
outdated Falcon config DSL (load :rack / rack hostname do, superseded by
require falcon/environment/rack + service ... include
Falcon::Environment::Rack) and an unsupported 'no explicit timeout
needed as fibers are cooperative' claim. Both sit inside the section
being rewritten and are fixed there.

Also recorded the two findings that inverted assumptions, each verified
against primary sources before being written down:
- Thread#[] is FIBER-local, not thread-local (Ruby docs: 'each fiber has
its own bucket'); thread_variable_get/set is the thread-local pair. So
'move thread-local state to fiber-local' is backwards for the API
people actually use. Real failure modes are the reverse:
thread_variable_set leaks request A's data into request B, while
  Thread.current[:cache] silently never hits.
- Falcon's Railtie sets isolation_level = :fiber unconditionally, which
is why the fibers post shipped today needed its correction.

Sharpened the generalization to a P1: five invented/invalid/stale
examples on one ranking dev.to-era import means the imported technical
cluster needs the same de-fabrication sweep, config examples first.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* fix: my own correction repeated the isolation_level error it was fixing

The upgrade writer caught that line 276 of this page still told readers
to add config.active_support.isolation_level = :fiber and called it
'Required under Falcon' - the exact defect I had just corrected in the
fibers post, left standing inside my own rewrite of that block. Falcon's
Railtie sets it unconditionally, so the page was about to contradict its
own new migration section.

Now reframed to match: the Railtie link, an explicit 'you do not add
this', what the setting actually governs, and pool: named as the
reader's real job. Both posts and the incoming migration section now
agree.

Worth recording as a pattern: fixing an instance of a defect is not the
same as fixing the defect. When a claim turns out wrong, grep the page
you are editing for it before moving on - I fixed a sibling post and
walked past the same sentence three lines from my own edit.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* docs: pin the merge order + drop stale line numbers from §12a/§12c

Independent build-verified cross-check raised a coordination risk: two
branches edit the same top-ranking file (this one touches frontmatter +
the Rails Integration block, upgrade/falcon-puma-migration-runbook
rewrites the migration section) and my commits had already shifted the
other branch's line numbers twice. Recorded the resolution: this branch
merges first because it carries the 404 recovery, the upgrade branch
rebases after. Told that agent directly too.

Replaced the hard-coded 580-787 references with 'find it by heading, not
by number' - they had already gone stale twice in one session.

Also recorded what the same check verified, since it corrects an earlier
assumption of mine: cover_image never drove the rendered hero (the theme
resolves it via .Resources.GetMatch "cover.*") nor og:image (which comes
from metatags.image), so the frontmatter change is accessibility-only -
the alt attribute - with zero pixel change and no visual-suite risk. The
alias emits meta-refresh + canonical to the live URL and is excluded
from the sitemap, so no duplicate-content signal.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* fix: drop the 'genuinely' cluster tell from the Falcon page

Flagged by the upgrade writer as sitting just outside its editing
window. Same intensifier the batch sweep removed from four posts this
morning - it was pre-existing here, which is a small confirmation that
the tell predates today's batch rather than being introduced by it.
One word, no meaning lost.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* fix: stop the audit record certifying work that has not happened

Codex cross-check BLOCKED this branch on a real defect in my own record.
§12c said three remaining fabrications 'are fixed there' on
upgrade/falcon-puma-migration-runbook. That branch has zero commits and
is unpushed - verified. So this PR would have routed 3,778 monthly
impressions onto a page while the document told a cold session the page
was clean. Now states plainly that the three are LIVE, that the branch
has not started, and 'do not read this as an all-clear'. Same fix for a
'both applied' heading that covered a Thread#[] correction which has not
been applied to any live line yet.

Content fixes from the same review:
- The rewritten block contradicted itself one sentence later: 'the one
setting that matters' followed immediately by naming a second setting
as the reader's job. Now 'the setting most migration guides tell you
to add', with pool: given its own paragraph.
- 'you do not add this' was overstated for the workflow this same page
prescribes: it puts falcon in the production group, so in development
the Railtie never loads and isolation_level stays :thread. Caveat
  added.
- Railtie links pinned to v0.57.0 in both posts - blob/main can move
under us, and the page pins a gem range two lines away.
- Recorded a sixth defect of the same class found on a later pass:
after_connect: with a Ruby logger call in a second database.yml block,
  also not a real key.

…k role

Three corrections, all surfaced by the agent executing the plan rather than by
me writing it.

1. The success signal 'delete all 55 !important workarounds' was wrong and
dangerous. 55 counted every !important in four files; only ~19 are
anchor-attributable - the rest are @media print rules and legacy
heading-margin fights, so chasing the number would have deleted print
styles to hit it. Replaced with the falsifiable version: every !important
whose comment cites the anchor rule must go, and no other may be touched.
The trap generalises - blog-single.css's comment says 'same class of fight
... both die in Phase 1a'. Same class, different cause.

2. #0066d6 is also an accessibility fix, not only a specificity monster: it
replaced #1a8cff in Sprint #2 because the brand blue measured 3.37:1 and
failed AA. Retiring it means landing the replacement at AA or better, not
   merely 'not blue'.

3. Body links decided - --ink-900 text with a --color-ruby underline. Not ruby
text: ruby is the action colour and a body full of ruby links stops links
being distinguishable from buttons. WCAG 1.4.1 requires more than colour to
mark a link, so the underline carries the affordance and the text stays
calm for long-form reading. Recorded with a do-not-simplify note.

Also adds the SVG-asset row the original measured-surface table omitted (50
files: 47 icons swept, 3 logos deliberately untouched).

…emise, GA4 setup closed (#508)

* Artifact trails: one tinted card per trail, and .pay stops lying

The C2.2 follow-up asked for a palette-unification pass across the five
module walkthrough trails, on the grounds that green was landing on non-money
cards. Rendering all five side by side says the diagnosis was half right.

Four of the five already follow a learnable rule: exactly one card is tinted,
and it is the module's payoff - green when that payoff is money (M1's $594
price test, M5's cleared deposit), purple when it is not (M3's PASS, M4's live
MVP). M2 was the only one out of line, tinting three of five cards purple, so
the eye had nothing to land on and the rule the other four teach broke.

Fixed by untinting M2's two lesson-2.5 cards. The prototype card (2.6) keeps
its purple - it is the module's terminal artifact and it is not money.

Deliberately NOT changed, having looked at the renders:

- Green big-text on BUILD (M2), PASS (M3) and 6.5% (M1). The spec's short line
reads "green = money only" but its own table says "money/success outcomes",
and in every trail green consistently marks the good result. That is a
working convention; the spec's letter does not beat a working exhibit.
- M2's duplicate "2.5" chips and M3's 3.1/3.1/3.2/3.2. These look like
copy-paste bugs and are not: module 2 lesson 2.5 produces both the BUILD
verdict and the money answer, and module 3 has two lessons with two
artifacts each. Verified against each walkthrough's own lesson links.

Also renamed .pay -> .done in M2/M3/M4, where the class is purple and marks a
non-money card. The misleading name is what generated this backlog item in the
first place. M1/M5 keep .pay because there it is green and it is money.
Rendered hashes before and after are identical for M3 and M4 - the rename is
provably zero-delta.

Gates: content-only class. bin/hugo-build green (8/8 validators). M2 scored
4/4 on the new-media visual gate at 720 and at a 390 render; all five still
clear bin/check-svg-floor.

* Course discovery: the "positions 5-13" reading was an artifact, and it is retracted

Asked why 60+ course URLs sit at positions 5-13 with ~800 impressions and 2
clicks. Pulled it live rather than re-reading the inherited summary, and the
premise does not survive.

GSC averages position over impressions, so the course's best-looking rows are
its emptiest: `form-your-founding-hypothesis` reports position 3.0 on ONE
impression, the course index 4.3 on three. Those are not rankings.

Of the six queries GSC will name across all course pages in 28 days (62
impressions total), 57 come from `"stripe / collison" anti-reference` and
`dashboard.stripe.com/screenshare` - a scraped string and someone trying to
reach Stripe support. The four real queries total five impressions at positions
42-97. On the one course page with an unambiguous high-volume target, the honest
90-day number is position 26.6 and 32.6, not 5-13.

Meanwhile the domain ranks perfectly well - `rails install dependencies` 5.9,
`sidekiq vs solid queue` 7.4, `langchain tutorial` 179 impressions. Every real
ranking it holds is a Ruby/Rails/AI-engineering query. So this is topical
authority, not CTR and not indexation, which is also why the falsified
title/meta experiment could never have worked: you cannot snippet your way up
from position 27, and there were no impressions to convert.

The finding that changes plans is the asymmetry next door. AI Assistant
delivered 34 sessions at 79% engagement in the same window against 2 from the
LinkedIn course campaign, and the course landing is the 15th most-landed page on
the site without ranking for anything. LLM retrieval matches on content, not on
the domain topical authority the course lacks - it is winning in the channel
where its handicap does not apply, unattended, while the worked channel returns
2.

Full diagnosis with reproduce steps: 2605 50.05. Retracted the stale clause in
the three places that carry it (TASK-TRACKER, 50.03, .okf/log #2) rather than
only adding the new doc - it had already been read as encouraging in two
separate reads.

Gates: docs-only, no build surface touched.

* GA4: un-mark page_view, two shared Explorations, a dashboard, and a bot caveat

All four browser-only GA4 items are done. None needed an API - Explorations
have none at all, and the rest were plain UI.

- `page_view` un-marked as a key event. Until this landed, `keyEvents` counted
~4,000 page views and every conversion figure on the property was unusable,
including the `contact_cta_click` marked yesterday. Key events list went 4
  rows to 3.
- Two Explorations built and shared property-wide, each carrying the bot caveat
in its own name: Campaign performance and Site health.
- A Reports snapshot. The property had NEVER had one - clicking Reports landed
on a template chooser. Set to "User behavior", deliberately not "Marketing
performance": that template leads on channel attribution and conversions, the
two numbers this property is worst at, so it would have put the bot trap on
  the landing screen.
- A red property annotation, because the snapshot still leads with "Active
users 9K" and "15s average engagement" and a saved report that silently
repeats the 86%-collapse trap is worse than no report.

Three traps recorded in analytics-access for whoever does this next:

1. Un-marking a key event is NOT retroactive. Key events are stamped at
processing time, so any window including data before today still counts
page_view - the Campaign exploration read 4,063 immediately after the
change. Only windows starting 2026-08-21 give a clean count.
2. Annotation descriptions cap at 150 chars and truncate mid-word silently.
3. The annotation date field is a two-slot range and typing fills the END slot;
the left slot needs an explicit click, and Save stays disabled until it has
   a value.

Also closed the stale half of the C1.2 checklist: all three fabricated-fact
items were already applied in the content and only the tracker still said
otherwise. Verified each in the files before ticking.

Gates: docs-only; bin/hugo-build green.

* LinkedIn work scheduled as task cards for separate sessions; course SEO/AEO closed

Paul 2026-08-21, on the discovery diagnosis in 50.05.

Course SEO and AEO are CLOSED, not deferred. The course does not rank and the
cause is domain topical authority, not the pages - and AEO is not the escape
hatch: a 60-day pull gives the course 4 of ~62 AI-assistant sessions, the top
cited page being a job ad. Both channels route on the same dev gravity. Written
into the tracker and widened in 50.03's not-scheduled list, which previously
only ruled out "SEO/title work" - the narrower line would have let an AEO or
schema pass back in.

LinkedIn is the one arrival channel not gated by topical authority, and it has
barely run: 3 posted of 19 planned. Sliced into five task cards (LI-0..LI-D) in
linkedin-posts/content-plan.md for SEPARATE sessions to take - this session
scheduled the work, it is not executing it. Cards touch disjoint files so two
can run concurrently; each carries its own doctrine links, gates, and the
Paul-gated posting rule.

Put them in content-plan.md rather than a new backlog file: it is already the
rolling calendar and its "Next actions" section was a stale 2026-08-14 handoff.
That section is kept, marked superseded, rather than deleted - it still holds
the open story-bank item and the outreach context.

LI-0 exists because the record disagrees with itself. content-plan's Status
column marks trust-signals-poll, ten-interviews-recap and staging-question
"revised" with no `revised:` line in their frontmatter, while the three that DO
carry the 2026-08-20 marker are listed as draft/approved. The table was last
touched 08-17, the revisions landed 08-20. Frontmatter is the artifact and
wins, but which way each of the three resolves needs reading, not assuming - so
it is a task, not a silent fix, and it blocks the other cards.

Gates: docs-only (content-plan.md is `render: never`); bin/hugo-build green.

#505)

* Correct ADR-0003: #1a8cff is the logo colour; logos out of scope

Lane A halted its codemod rather than recolour brand assets and the reason
corrects the ADR. After deleting --color-primary the only #1a8cff left in
built output was SVG assets - logo-dark.svg contains exactly one hex value,
no brand definition' was overstated: true of the documented design system,
false of the actual logo.

The decision survives with a better reason - a mark colour is not a UI
accent. The logo identifies, the accent directs; promoting the mark's blue to
'primary' is what put blue bands, blue tags and blue links on a ruby site.
The three logo files stay blue and are OUT OF SCOPE for every design-system
phase, not deferred.

Also records the trap that produced the finding: SVG assets cannot read CSS
custom properties, so ~29 hardcoded icons are invisible to token work and a
recolour must sweep them separately. 20.02 counted CSS references and
literals but never SVG assets - a gap in my plan, not in the execution.

* Correct Phase 1a: the !important count, the a11y history, and the link role

me writing it.

dangerous. 55 counted every !important in four files; only ~19 are

* OKF: the white-wash trap, and why 4 of 6 review agents died

Two durable findings from the 3-lane redesign swarm.

architecture/css-pipeline.md - computed style, not source, proves the paint.
Two sections of the new /friday-report/ page computed to
background-color rgba(0,0,0,0): the white behind them was
legacy-theme-skin.css's hardcoded .fl-page-content, which ships after the
page slice and wins on cascade order. Zero visual delta today because both
are #ffffff - which is exactly why it would have sat undetected - and it
detonates the moment a --surface token moves off white, leaving a
half-recoloured page caused by a file nobody touched. Records the detection
method and the id+class fix from new-page.md. Same family as the uppercase
#1A8CFF that survived a case-sensitive sweep.

workflows/review-swarm.md - review agents failed 4 of 6, all on a Fable
credit limit, because work agents carried an explicit opus override while the
reviewers they spawned inherited the default. The asymmetry is the hazard:
work completes and reports success while its gate quietly does not run.
Brief size looks causal rather than incidental - the three that died had long
briefs, the one that returned a verdict had the tightest, and a
consumption-based limit means the sprawling thorough-looking brief is LESS
likely to produce a review. Rules: dead reviewer is not a passed review; idle
is ambiguous so ask for the verdict; pass model opus explicitly; a
coordinator closing a leg itself must say so and invite contradiction.

* Sync 2608 to reality: GA4 key-event toggles are closed

#508 un-marked page_view and #495 marked contact_cta_click, closing the
Phase 0.1 GA4 items this plan still described as outstanding and which I had
been reporting to Paul as blocked.

Carries the caveat that outlives the fix: un-marking is NOT retroactive, so
the ~4,063 historical page-view 'key events' remain in the data and any
before/after read spanning 2026-08-13 to 08-20 compares a polluted before
against a clean after. Date-bound keyEvents queries or read the underlying
event names.

--link / --link-hover / --link-visited / --link-underline, defined as the
values already shipping (#0066d6, #0a4f9a, and the rgba underline), and the
existing link rules in style.css and navigation.css repointed at them.

Same zero-delta trick as 1a.1: nothing renders differently, which turns the
colour decision into a one-line value change carrying its own screenshot
review, instead of a colour change tangled up in the specificity surgery
that follows. Either half can then be reverted without the other.

Recorded in the token comment, because it reframes the whole step: the
#0066d6 anchor rule is NOT just a late-cascade specificity monster. Sprint #2
introduced that value because --color-primary #1a8cff measured 3.37:1 and
failed WCAG AA; #0066d6 is 4.78:1. We are replacing an accessibility fix
whose delivery mechanism was bad, not deleting a mistake - so the
replacement has to clear AA as well.

One real change rides along, per the agreed design: the body-link hover
underline goes to full --color-ruby rather than opaque blue.

Companion blues in the same rule groups go with it: --jt-primary-dark ->
--ruby-700, --jt-primary-hover / #007af4 button hovers -> --color-ruby-hover,
#006ddc button edges -> --ruby-700, the rgba(26,140,255,.5) focus ring ->
the ruby equivalent. Leaving those blue would give a ruby button a blue
hover and a blue edge.

Roles: buttons/onsale badge/nav-toggle = accent surface -> --color-ruby
(white on #cc342d is 5.1:1, AA both ways); nav hover + current-item = accent
text -> --color-ruby; focus outlines -> --color-ruby.

Historical comments that record what an undefined var(--color-primary) used
to compute to are left verbatim - they are history, not live references.

* 1a.2 batch 2/6: shared components off --color-primary

c-button, c-hero, c-hero-sections, c-social-share, content-block,
testimonials. All accent roles -> --color-ruby: primary/tertiary buttons,
hero CTA, typewriter caret, hero badge + stat numbers, breadcrumb hover,
eyebrow text, the --color-primary content-block modifier, social focus ring.

Companion blues in the same rule groups moved with them - #0066cc hovers ->
--color-ruby-hover (bg) / --ruby-700 (text on light, where #e04a42 would miss
AA at 3.9:1), rgba(26,140,255,a) -> the ruby triple, and the
rgba(17,82,147,a) gradient partner -> the --ruby-700 triple.

Alpha kept as alpha where it is load-bearing (hero overlays, video buttons
over media, the hero badge tint); --ruby-100 used only where the tint sits
on an opaque page background (tertiary button hover).

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* 1a.2 batch 3/6: critical/ bundles off --color-primary

Ten above-the-fold bundles. Every site is an accent role: FL buttons and the
generic button reset (accent surface, #fff on #cc342d = 5.1:1), section
eyebrows and mission/culture headlines, service card more-links and their
icons, the current-page nav ancestor, case-category chips.

#006ddc button edges -> --ruby-700 (same darker-edge relationship the blue
pair had); the rgba(26,140,255,.1) category-chip tint sits on an opaque card
so it takes --ruby-100 rather than an alpha.

No blue-family literal left anywhere under critical/.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* 1a.2 batch 4/6: pages/ bundles off --color-primary

Ten page bundles, 48 sites, all accent roles: section eyebrows, service-card
more-links and their icons, grid pagination + load-more pills (text, hover
fill and pill border), carousel dots, case-category chips, career share-button
hovers.

The rgba(26,140,255,.1) !important chip tint sits on opaque cards -> --ruby-100
(the !important stays; it belongs to 1a.3's cleanup, not this step).
services.css #007af4 more-link hovers are text on light, so --ruby-700
(#9e2620) rather than --color-ruby-hover, which would land at 3.9:1.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* 1a.2 batch 5/6: root-level bundles off --color-primary

404, 586, component-bundle, footer, homepage-sections, homepage,
legacy-theme-skin, navigation, pagination, single-post, technologies,
use-cases-dynamic. Menu hover/current-item and their carets, generic a:hover,
FL buttons, footer 'special' badge, card accent bars, tab pills, pagination
links.

One site did NOT go ruby: .home-report-row-key--next. That block is a
three-state status legend (shipped green / blocked --color-ruby / next blue).
Mapping next -> ruby would have made it identical to blocked and destroyed
the distinction, so it takes --ink-500 as the neutral 'upcoming' marker.
This is the case the brief's 'resolve by role, never find-and-replace' rule
exists for.

Also swept the last blue companions: #007af4 button hovers ->
--color-ruby-hover (surface) / --ruby-700 (text on light), #006ddc edges ->
--ruby-700, rgba(26,14[01],255,a) tints -> --ruby-100 or the ruby triple.
Two navigation.css comments describing live rules were reworded so they no
longer claim the elements are blue.

No blue-family literal remains in themes/beaver/assets/css.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* 1a.2 batch 6/6: delete --color-primary

The definition is gone from foundations/css-variables.css, and home.html's
one inline style="color: #1a8cff" (the Clutch link in the hero) becomes
var(--color-ruby) - link/accent text.

Rendered-output verification on a clean _dest rebuild, not a source grep:
  built css with a live var(--color-primary): 0
(17 bundles still carry the string, all inside historical comments that
record what the token used to compute to before it was ever defined -
PostCSS keeps comments in the dev build, prod strips them)
built css or html with #1a8cff in a rule or inline style: 0

What still contains #1a8cff after the build is image assets only: the
inline header logo (logo-dark.svg / logo-white.svg) and 23 icon SVGs. Those
are files, not consumers of the token - see the handoff note.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* 1a.2 icon sweep: 47 UI icon SVGs to ruby; the 3 logo files deliberately untouched

Per coordinator decision (option 1). These icons are UI decoration in an
accent role - role-equivalent to the CSS accents moved in batches 1-5 - so
#1a8cff -> #cc342d.

41 under themes/beaver/assets/img/icons/theme/ + 6 under
content/services/*/submenu-*.svg. One (hover-arrow-icon-hover.svg) carried
the value uppercase as #1A8CFF and would have survived a case-sensitive sweep.

HARDCODED ON PURPOSE, AND A KNOWN LIMITATION: SVG files cannot read CSS
custom properties, so these are literal hex values, not tokens. They are
invisible to any future token work - a later palette change has to sweep
these files again. Recorded here so nobody assumes --color-ruby covers them.

DELIBERATELY NOT CHANGED - themes/beaver/assets/img/icons/logo-dark.svg,
logo-white.svg, logo-small.svg. #1a8cff is the brand mark's only colour, so
--color-primary was extracted FROM the logo rather than invented. A company's
mark is identity, not a design token: a blue mark alongside a ruby UI accent
is a coherent pattern (the mark identifies, the accent directs). Recolouring
it is Paul's brand call and is out of scope for the design-system phases
entirely - not deferred to 1a.4. These three files were left, not missed.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* 1a.2 baselines: accept the 4 macOS screenshots the recolour moved

desktop/{homepage,services}/_cta-contact_us and _footer. Recorded with
bin/record-baselines (kept 4, restored 83), and every PNG opened and looked
at before committing, not just captured.

What moved, and why it is an improvement rather than a swap: the CTA card's
40px accent bar and the footer 'we're hiring' badge were blue while the
'Contact Us' button sitting between them was ALREADY ruby. The before state
was internally inconsistent; they now agree. White on #cc342d is 5.1:1.

macOS leg only - the Linux leg goes through the CI dispatch, since local ARM
Docker records plant false drift.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* 1a.3 step 1/4: introduce link-role tokens at current values (zero delta)

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* 1a.3 steps 2-3/4: retire the #0066d6 anchor rule at its cause

Root cause, not the symptom: eight critical/ bundles each carry a copy of
the Bootstrap reboot's `a { color: #007bff }`, and they load AFTER
navigation.css. The site-wide link rule could only beat them by climbing to
a :not() chain 8 class-levels high - which also made it unbeatable by
ordinary page CSS, which is why three page files fight it with scoped
!important.

So the chain was never the disease. Fixed where all the bare `a` rules meet:
those eight reboot rules now resolve var(--link) too, so every bare `a`
agrees, and the site-wide rule drops to plain element specificity (0,0,1).
Anything with a class now beats it naturally - no !important needed.

Kept `text-decoration: none` and `background-color: transparent` in the
reboot blocks; only the colour declaration was live-but-wrong. Deleting the
whole rule would have underlined every link on those eight pages.

EVIDENCE: bin/qtest --changed - 34 runs, 0 failures, 53 screenshots compared,
no failures. A specificity rewrite of the site-wide link rule that moves zero
pixels is the proof the replacement is equivalent; the colour change lands
separately, in step 4, where its diff is legible.

Left a note against reintroducing a :not() chain - if a link needs another
colour, it gets a class.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* 1a.3 step 4/4: land the link colour and delete the workarounds it forced

Body links become ink text with a ruby underline, not ruby text. Ruby is the
ACTION colour; a post body full of ruby links stops a reader telling a link
from a button. The underline — not the colour — is what satisfies WCAG 1.4.1
(distinguishable by more than colour), which frees the text colour to stay
calm and keeps ruby meaning "act here".

Contrast, measured rather than assumed: --ink-900 #14110f on white is 18.7:1
and --ruby-700 #9e2620 hover is 8.1:1. Both clear AA comfortably, so this
IMPROVES on the 4.78:1 the blue delivered rather than regressing the
accessibility fix the anchor rule was originally introduced to make.

!IMPORTANT BURN-DOWN — 14 deleted, 0 survivors:
  pages/blog-list.css         5 -> 0   (filters, aria-current pill, card tags)
  single-post.css             5 -> 0   (blog CTA button + note, post tags)
pages/vibe-code-rescue.css 4 -> 0 (header links on the obsidian band, CTA)
  pages/blog-single.css       0 -> 0   (none were ever anchor-related)
Every deletion is one whose comment cited the anchor rule. The three stale
comments explaining why the !important was needed are rewritten rather than
left to mislead.

NOT TOUCHED, deliberately: the ~36 other !important declarations in those
files. 20.02 counted 55 "workarounds waiting on this" by counting every
!important in the four files; the real anchor-attributable set is 14. The
rest are @media print rules and fights with style.css's legacy heading
margins. blog-single.css is the instructive case - its comment says "same
class of fight as the #0066d6 anchor rule - both die in Phase 1a", and same
class, different CAUSE is exactly how a plausible number becomes a wrong one.
Those heading fights die when style.css's heading rules die; that is not 1a.3.

Verified by computed style, not source: a body link resolves to
color rgb(20,17,15), text-decoration underline, decoration-color
rgb(204,52,45), thickness 2px. bin/qtest --changed: 34 runs, 0 failures,
53 screenshots compared, no failures.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* 1a.3 follow-on: point the page-level surface painter at --surface (zero delta)

Found by computed style, not source grep, per the transparent-background trap
Lane C hit: on a service page every .fl-row/.fl-row-content computes to
rgba(0,0,0,0), and the element actually painting white is
div#fl-main-content.fl-page-content — hardcoded #fff, not a token. Zero
visual delta today because --surface IS #ffffff, which is exactly why it
would have sat undetected until a surface token moved and left half the page
white.

Same duplicated-reboot shape as the a { color: #007bff } fixed two commits
ago: .fl-page-content { background-color: #fff } is copied into TEN bundles
(legacy-theme-skin, theme-main, and eight critical/). All ten now resolve
var(--surface).

PROVEN BY COMPUTED STYLE, not by reading the CSS: with the page loaded,
setting --surface to rgb(1,2,3) at :root changes the painted background of
.fl-page-content to rgb(1,2,3) and removing it restores white. The painter
follows the token now; before this commit it could not.

bin/qtest --changed: 34 runs, 0 failures, 53 screenshots compared, no
failures - as expected for a change that is zero-delta by construction.

DELIBERATELY NOT FIXED, and escalated instead: `body { background-color:
#fff }` is duplicated across the SAME ten bundles. That is the second painter
- blog posts have no .fl-page-content at all, so their ground comes from
body. Two reasons to stop rather than sweep it:
  1. It takes the latent total to 20 declarations, which is the number the
coordinator set as the stop-and-report threshold.
  2. theme-main.css line 15 carries an explicit KEEP LITERAL warning on the
adjacent body declaration: "reboot-generic selector - var() form invites
minifier merge-hoist / dedup unmask". Converting body declarations to
var() has a known, documented hazard here. That deserves its own step
with its own verification, not a ride-along.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* 1a.3 fix: bare anchors must inherit their ground, not a single link colour

Reviewer finding B4, confirmed by computed style on the rendered page before
and after.

THE DEFECT I SHIPPED IN step 4: --link is a LIGHT-surface decision, but the
rule applying it is element-scope `a`, which reaches every anchor on every
surface. The retired :not() chain had identical reach - but #0066d6 was a
mid-tone that survived BOTH grounds (3.87:1 on obsidian). --ink-900 does not.
The chain's specificity was the defect; its COLOUR was quietly doing
load-bearing work on the dark bands.

Measured, on the dark grounds:
  services/vibe-code-rescue "4.8 out of 5 on Clutch" 1.03:1 (was 3.87:1)
homepage technologies band "audit and stabilize" 1.12:1
Both are bare <a> with no class and no rule anywhere colouring them. Both had
become invisible text.

FIX: the site-wide rule is now `a { color: inherit }`. An unclassed link takes
the colour of the text around it, so it is legible on every surface by
construction and no dark section needs a bespoke override. Pinning any single
colour there - blue or ink - is the actual bug, and the eight Bootstrap-reboot
copies now inherit too so they agree.

Link-ness then has to come from the underline rather than the colour, which is
what WCAG 1.4.1 wants regardless. Wired up for the two prose sites that had no
class of their own: .vcr-why p a (--color-on-dark + ruby underline, now
14.93:1) and .technologies-component .description a (inherits, ruby underline,
legible on both the light and .white variants).

Also fixed from the same review: the css-variables note quoted --ruby-700 on
white as 8.1:1 where it computes to 7.6:1 (still AA), and two style.css
comments still advertised #0066d6 above rules that no longer use it.

bin/qtest --changed: 34 runs, 0 failures, 53 screenshots compared, no failures.

STILL OPEN, deliberately not fixed here - see the handback:
B5 in its general form (a bare anchor in light-page body copy now inherits the
body colour exactly, so nothing but an underline distinguishes it, and the
reboot's `a { text-decoration: none }` suppresses that). The reviewer's fix is
to move the underline onto the site-wide rule and drop `text-decoration: none`
from the eight reboot copies - that underlines every currently-unclassed
anchor site-wide, which is a real visual change needing its own screenshot
review, not a ride-along at the end of this branch.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* 1a.2/1a.3 blockers: clear the contrast regressions and the last blues

All ratios below measured in the browser on the rendered page, not computed
from source - the visual suite cannot see changes this small (see the note at
the end).

B2 homepage TECHNOLOGIES eyebrow, 4.10 -> 5.23:1. --color-ruby #cc342d is a
LIGHT-surface value; on the near-black band it misses AA. Added
`.technologies-component.white .subheading { color: var(--color-ruby-hover) }`
- ruby needs a lighter tone on dark and a darker one on light. Same role,
two values.

B3 use-cases action button, 4.02 -> 5.13:1. The resting surface was painted
with --color-ruby-hover; a hover value used at rest is the bug. Now
--color-ruby, white on it 5.13:1.

N1 case-category chips, 4.40 -> 6.55:1, six sites. Ruby text on a ruby tint
was never going to clear AA; --ruby-700 is the token that exists for exactly
this (already used correctly at .c-button--tertiary:hover).

N3 seven #428AF7 hover borders -> --color-ruby. They sat in the same rule
groups as pills recoloured in 1a.2, so they were flashing blue on hover.

N5 dead .c-content-block--color-primary deleted - no template referenced it.

B5, sized before fixing rather than after. The reviewer's first proposal was
to move the underline onto the site-wide rule and drop `text-decoration: none`
from the 8 reboot copies; on measuring, the genuinely-uncovered population is
ONE link per page. Underlining every unclassed anchor site-wide to fix that is
the wrong trade. Instead `.fl-rich-text p a` - the FL-builder prose container,
which nav, footer and buttons are not inside - takes the underline. Measured
blast radius on /use-cases/ and /services/: 1 anchor each, exactly the one
that needed it; zero indistinguishable prose links left.

A FOURTH hardcoded blue, which every CSS-side grep in this phase missed:
partials/services/related-content.html styles links, a CTA button, a
border-left and tag chips with INLINE `style="color:#0066cc"` etc. Inline
styles beat every cascade change, so those were still blue on service pages
after all of 1a.2 and 1a.3. Now var(--link)/--color-ruby/--ruby-100/--ruby-700.
Lesson worth keeping: a recolour has to grep templates for inline style
attributes, not only stylesheets.

GATE HONESTY: qtest passing is NOT evidence for any of this.
test/application_system_test_case.rb runs section screenshots at
tolerance: 0.02, and a one-word eyebrow or an inline link is far under 2% of a
section image - so a stale baseline still passes. Every number above therefore
comes from a computed-style contrast measurement in the browser. The suite
being blind to colour-only changes in small text is itself a finding; it is in
the handback.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* 1a.2/1a.3 baselines: re-record the 94 macOS screenshots the recolour moved

Recorded with bin/record-baselines, macOS leg only. A representative sample
opened and looked at, covering each surface class rather than spot-checking
one: clients/_technologies (light band), homepage/_technologies (dark band),
blog/special/codeblocks (blog CTA), plus mobile.

WHY 94 AND NOT THE 4 ACCEPTED EARLIER - this is the important part. The
section screenshots assert at tolerance: 0.02
(test/application_system_test_case.rb), and a recoloured eyebrow or an inline
link is far below 2% of a section image. So for two whole phases the suite
reported 0 failures while baselines still showed the OLD blue. 'qtest green'
was never evidence that any of this rendered correctly; it only ever proved
nothing large moved.

The re-record is what surfaced the true extent. Every contrast claim in the
preceding commits comes from computed-style measurement in the browser
instead, and the tolerance blindness is written up for the coordinator - a
colour-only phase needs a gate the tolerance cannot swallow.

Linux leg deliberately not attempted: local ARM Docker records plant false
drift, so it goes through the CI dispatch after push. CI failing on missing
Linux baselines until then is expected.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* N1 survivors: the last two ruby-on-ruby-tint pairs

Same 4.40:1 class as the six case-category chips, missed on the first pass
because the reviewer's finding described them in prose rather than listing
them as sites - so I fixed the enumerated six and left these:

  586.css:527 careers file-upload button --ruby-100 bg + --color-ruby text
  components/c-hero-sections.css:491 hero badge ruby .1 tint + --color-ruby

Both -> --ruby-700, the token that exists for ruby-on-light. Same one-token
fix, same 6.55:1 result as the chips.

Verified structurally rather than by re-measuring each: no
`color: var(--color-ruby)` remains within three lines of a --ruby-100 or
rgba(204,52,45,.1) background anywhere in themes/beaver/assets/css. That is
the whole pattern, not a sample of it.

The hero badge also drops its `var(--jt-primary, ...)` indirection. --jt-primary
resolves to --color-ruby, so routing a contrast-critical value through an
alias meant the AA-safe choice could be silently undone by a change to the
alias. Contrast-critical colours name their token directly.

bin/rake test:critical: 34 runs, 0 failures, 53 screenshots, no failures.

NOT DONE HERE, queued for 1a.4: the ruby ramp has no light end. Ruby-on-dark
is currently solved three different ways - a hardcoded #ff8a7a in
vibe-code-rescue.css:95 and :366, --color-ruby-hover borrowed at rest for the
homepage eyebrow (B2, this branch), and nothing at all elsewhere. One
--ruby-300 alongside --ruby-700 collapses all three and is a smaller diff than
the present state. Coupling the eyebrow to a hover value is structurally the
same shape as the B3 bug fixed one commit earlier; it measures 5.23:1 so it
is not a blocker, but it should not survive 1a.4.

pftg added a commit that referenced this pull request Aug 28, 2026
Audited the tables on our #2 organic page after the fabricated-figure sweep.
Verdict: NOT the same defect class, and worth saying why rather than deleting
on suspicion.

Two things argue the numbers are real. They are internally coherent - Falcon at
102ms against a forced 100ms I/O delay is exactly what a working async server
does, and the Puma row degrades in proportion to its worker-slot count under
400 concurrent users. And the hello-world table shows Agoo beating Falcon on
every column: more requests per second, less memory, less CPU. Nobody fabricates
a competitor beating their own recommendation.

What is actually wrong is different. No load generator is named anywhere in the
post, no date is recorded, and the app under test is not described - so nobody
can re-run these and check us. Meanwhile the sibling tuning post names its
tooling and carries a Sources section, which shows the standard exists and this
post missed it.

Fixed by saying so: the numbers are now framed as indicative rather than
reproducible, with the gap named explicitly and readers pointed at the tuning
post for figures that have a method attached. The Agoo row is called out in
prose as running against us, because leaving it unremarked reads as an oversight
rather than a disclosure.

Also corrected a category error: Action Cable was listed as a web server
alongside Puma and Falcon. It is a Rails component that runs ON a server, so the
row now reads "Action Cable on Puma", which makes the comparison mean something.
