Wildfire is a Swift-based macOS menu bar app by Black Lambda. It lets you capture a selected region of the screen, sends the image to OpenAI, and presents the response in a lightweight desktop UI.

Clone the repository and build the executable:
git clone https://www.github.com/m-tedeschi/wildfire
cd wildfire
swift buildCreate ~/.wildfire.env with your OpenAI settings:

OPENAI_MODEL=gpt-5.6-lunaTo package Wildfire as a macOS app bundle, run:
chmod +x Scripts/package-app.sh
./Scripts/package-app.shThe packaged app is created at .build/Wildfire.app.
Run Wildfire locally:
swift run WildfireUse the default keybind, Left Control + Left Option + Left Command + Backslash, to start a screen snip. Select a region, then wait for Wildfire to analyze the capture and show the response.
If macOS blocks screen capture, grant Screen Recording permission in System Settings under Privacy & Security.
