Firmware and documentation for flicker-phosphene hallucination goggles. Some of the content here can be rendered as HTML, and a browsable website version of this repository can be accessed through Github pages.
This material follows earlier blog posts outlining construction of do-it-yourself goggles to demonstrate the flicker phosphene hallucination effect. A small batch of a simplified re-design using welding goggles was produced a few years ago.
Unless otherwise specified, media, text, and rendered outputs are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike 4.0 license (CC BY-SA 4.0). Source code is licensed under the GNU General Public License version 3.0 (GPLv3). The CC BY-SA 4.0 is one-way compatible with the GPLv3 license. The intent of this licensing choice is to encourage academic norms for citation and attribution.
This project is published in the spirit (but not the letter) of the tongue-and-cheek CRAPL license for academic code. This is not a legal license as it contains internal inconsistencies (like forbidding users to exist). However, it contains a strong caution that this project has not been reviewed or prepared for use by the general public. If there is community interest in a specific subset of the project, please open an issue for improving the organization and documentation.
