This seems to be an issue on melonds and the recomp don't know how fixable the issue is if quirk with engine or not. Only really glaring bug which hasn't been mentioned on github.

Thanks for bringing this one up. Likely it'll be down the list after performance is in a happier spot. The fact that it's faithful to MelonDS too at least tells me that the runner and recompiler are being authentic (for better or worse).

As decompilation becomes available, we can overlay this onto the game's code and make it more digestible for modifications. Even with Recomp it may be doable, especially if we move away from using a shared ndsrecomp renderer in favor of a custom one.

At present, it may be sometime before I can address this, but want to recognize that I've seen the issue and it is valid. If any community contributions come by on this, I'll give them an eye and review and merge it out.
