@JeremyRand There is a current version of Socksipy/Pysocks that looks more stable and maintained: https://github.com/Anorov/PySocks Also it can be used without monkey patching. What do you think? In any case I suggest we create a separate module to handle all outside connections (replacing urllib2) to keep things lean and mean.
