Release v1.6.0

Changes

  • Added support for the current NTP version 5 draft specification (draft-ietf-ntp-ntpv5-09). This feature is experimental, so its API may change in future minor releases. It should not be used in production environments.
  • Added kernel timestamp support to provide more accurate time measurements on platforms that support them. Currently supported for Linux and MacOS.
  • Started using a more accurate system clock on the Windows platform for local system time measurements, improving precision from hundreds of microseconds to hundreds of nanoseconds.
  • Added the Log function to Response.
  • Added the Timestamps field to Response.
  • Added the RequestSupportedVersions field to QueryOptions.
  • Updated package dependencies. Minimum go version is now 1.26.

  • Fixed a bug in the calculation of the response's MaxError field.

Deprecated

  • Deprecated the Time field in the Response struct. Use Timestamps.ServerXmit instead.
