Summary

The session introduction still said that the php / php_binary serialize handlers inherit register_globals limitations. That topic is long gone, which made the key-name rules hard to find.

Change

In reference/session/book.xml, replace the register_globals sentence with an explicit description of current root-level $_SESSION key rules (verified against ext/session in php-src):

  • Numeric root keys are skipped (with a warning) for php / php_binary
  • Root string keys containing | fail under the php handler (warning as of PHP 8.5.0)
  • Nested keys inside stored arrays/objects are not subject to these limits
  • php_serialize does not have these root-key limitations

Docs/markup only.

Fixes #4448

The session intro still said serialize handlers inherit register_globals
limitations, but that topic no longer exists. Document the actual
root-level $_SESSION key restrictions for the php/php_binary handlers
(and that nested keys and php_serialize are unaffected).

Fixes php#4448

Thanks — switched the two inline-only blocks in book.xml from <para> to <simpara> for the DocBook style check.
