I'm a Peruvian engineer and the co-founder and CTO of Tina. My work brings together machine learning, recommendation systems and the data infrastructure needed to make them useful in practice.
At Tina, we're building AI products for insurance and housing in Latin America:
- Tina Sure — making insurance easier to access and buy through AI and WhatsApp.
- Tina Vive — combining AI and geospatial context to help people decide where to live and find a home that fits their lives.
These products are part of a broader interest: how technology can help people navigate decisions that depend on their circumstances, goals and constraints.
- What context does software need before it can help someone make a good decision?
- What changes when a recommendation system optimizes for the interests of the person using it?
- How do we measure whether a system actually helped someone choose well?
I'm interested in what technology changes about human behavior, markets and everyday life. Building products is how I test those ideas.
I work across production ML, recommendation and ranking systems, LLM applications, geospatial data and data platforms.
Much of that work involves getting the data right, evaluating system behavior and making the whole thing reliable enough for people to depend on.
Before Tina, I worked on ads, recommendations and personalization at Rappi, and on ML operations at Tul.
My long-term mission is to help build world-class technology companies from Peru.
