Maximized window goes back to windowed mode when clicking certain menus, and menu must be clicked again

After start, maximize window (HD 24" 16:10 1920 x 1200)
click options, click preferences, and maximized window goes back to original size, and have to click 'preferences' again to open the preferences window.

Same for insert>media file
