Why

The starter covers credentials and data, but has no pattern for personal data exports (social-media and account takeouts), while Part 2c's Never publish list covers anything sensitive, which such an export is. A search of the repository for takeout, Social Media and personal export returned nothing. This fills that gap the same way the credentials block does: by the names the exporting services actually use.

Sightings

One session's proposal, relayed by a second machine's coordination session. No second sighting is recorded, so this is best read as a defect (a gap between the starter and the prose) rather than a new rule.

What changes

  • gitignore-starter: a new block, # --- personal exports: never versioned, never published, placed after the data block. Seven patterns: Social Media/, takeout*/, *Takeout*, facebook-*/, instagram-*/, mydata~*.zip, Basic_LinkedInDataExport*.
  • Fit adjustment: the section rule's trailing dashes are trimmed to the width most of the file's section rules use.

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Adds a "personal exports: never versioned, never published" block after the
data block. The starter covered credentials and data but had no pattern for
personal data exports (social-media and account takeouts), while the prose
says never to publish them.
