Is there more background on adding run everywhere? I mean sure, its more explicit, but we know that all of us are lazy, so why type more if less works? Or are those shortcuts going to be deprecated in a future pnpm version or something?

No, it's just more explicit. Can revert that commit if it feels noisy.
