Declare project-drop-in ownership; add
templates/{editorconfig,gitattributes, gitignore,vimrc,vscode}/<lang>/
layout with READMEs; bump to 0.5.2.
Add shell/docs .editorconfig; retarget root .vimrc; preserve former C/C++ gold as templates/vimrc/c_cxx/.vimrc; bump to 0.5.3.
Migrate vscode and gitattributes from misc-config-scripts; seed editorconfig, gitignore, and vimrc per language with lex-ordered sections; bump to 0.6.0 as the canonical catalogue.
Record that templates/ is the sole canonical home after misc-config-scripts removed its legacy catalogs.
Refresh root `.gitignore` from `templates/gitignore/generic/`; normalise self `.gitattributes` to shell/docs catalog form; confirm `.vscode` matches generic gold; keep shell/docs `.editorconfig` / `.vimrc`; fold notes into 0.6.0 CHANGES/NEWS/TODO/README.
