Hanging punctuation? Where art thou?

[mrcasual]

Is hanging punctuation in your future release plans?

P.S. You can look into mentioning and/or using https://github.com/Boldewyn/jQuery.exdent

hmm...interesting. Seems like another great candidate for unicode-range but might need an extra bit of markup to attach the styling too. It would be nice if we could position elements based on unicode-range FWIW.

\u201E

@font-face {
    font-family: '#{$extendt-fontface-name}';
    src: $extendt-fontface-source;
    unicode-range: U+201E;
}

@mixin extendt($extendt-val) {
    display: inline-block; // ? might be needed to manipulate positioning coordinates
    text-indent: $extendt-val; // this could also be a left margin instead of text-indent;
}

Interesting! Hanging bullets/numbers/etc are easy, we'll definitely get that in there (I can't believe I forgot, actually!). Hanging quotes and the like, that's new to me. Very cool

So if anyone can give me a working example I'd love to see one. Currently for me I can only get it to indent the text. I think it will be very difficult to manipulate the unicode without using absolute positioning or reverting to pseudo element selectors. Also isn't a quote actually U+201C?

This is what I have been trying so far with no luck

Mauris placerat eleifend leo.</p>

$extendt-fontface-name: HangingQuote;
$extendt-fontface-source: local('Georgia');

@font-face {
  font-family: '#{$extendt-fontface-name}';
  src: $extendt-fontface-source;
  unicode-range: U+201C;
}

@mixin extendt($extendt-val) {
  display: inline-block;
  text-indent: $extendt-val;
}

p {
  @include extendt(1.5em);
}
