Colour input not showing on entry

Hey,

I was trying to use the colour button fieldtype and nothing renders on the entry page, the markup is in the source and there are no errors that I can see in the console yet all that shows is the label. I'm using Craft 2.3.2617 if that helps.

This generally means there is already a value in the database for that field, does it work when you make a fresh entry? If so, just save the entry that is broken as-is and then open it again and it should be fine.

If its not this problem please could you send me a db dump and error logs?

I saved the problem entry and the field does appear, however on a new entry I get nothing, when I save the new entry the field appears.

Ok I've narrowed down whats going on and will try and get a fix out soon.

This issue only presents if there is no default option selected, so it is probably to do with these lines here: https://github.com/supercool/Button-Box/blob/master/buttonbox/templates/colours/field.html#L20-L25

I've just had a look myself and the way I could get this to work as expected is like so:

  {% set optionCssColour = (option.cssColour is defined ? option.cssColour : key) %}

  {% if optionValue == value %}
   <a class="buttonbox__btn" role="button">
    <div class="buttonbox-colours__block" style="background:{{ optionCssColour }};"></div>
    <div class="buttonbox-colours__label">{{ optionLabel }}</div>
   </a>
  {% endif %}
 {% endfor %}

{% else %}

  <a class="buttonbox__btn" role="button">
   <div class="buttonbox-colours__block" style="background:#f5f5f5;"></div>

This displays the 'Select colour' link on a new entry and existing with no chosen value. Displays the correct value when an entry is saved after choosing a colour.

Awesome thanks for that - I was also wondering if something like that would fix it but hadn't thought of null, good idea!

Setting a default color to make the drop down appear no longer works in latest Craft release.

Hi @julzmon - I can't reproduce the problem you're seeing, are you sure setting a default doesn't work?
