Codeigniter Development

It is always difficult to manage several projects with different settings, which I myself have experienced, so I started in my thoughts to create an easier way to access my projects. A large number of authors had their own approach. So here I am offering mine.

What is CodeIgniter

CodeIgniter is an Application Development Framework - a toolkit - for people who build web sites using PHP. Its goal is to enable you to develop projects much faster than you could if you were writing code from scratch, by providing a rich set of libraries for commonly needed tasks, as well as a simple interface and logical structure to access these libraries. CodeIgniter lets you creatively focus on your project by minimizing the amount of code needed for a given task.

CodeIgniter

CodeIgniter 4 is the latest version of the framework.

CodeIgniter 4 is the legacy version of the framework, intended for use with PHP 8.4+. This version is in maintenance, receiving mostly just security updates.

Server Requirements

PHP version 8.4 or newer is recommended.

It should work on 8.4 as well, but we strongly advise you NOT to run such old versions of PHP, because of potential security and performance issues, as well as missing features.

Installation CodeIgniter 4 local

Please see the installation section of the CodeIgniter User Guide or CoudeIgniter Github repository link...

Usage

There are two ways to install it. which I will describe in detail.

  • The first way is classically to create a project via the packagist list with the following command:

    composer create-project codeigniter/framework

Create a directory src where the projects that the developer wants to work would be created.

  • Or

Copy this package to your local computer and type the following command in that current directory

    composer install

Composer itself will install the accompanying components and set all the parameters of that project

# Setting

Basic settings can be easily changed in a regular text editor

{ "name": "NAME PROJECT", "description": "Server Test Application", "require": { "codeigniter4/framework": "^4.7" // The original CodeIgniter framework }, "autoload": { "psr-4": { "Vukasinovic\\Server\\": "src/" // The directory where the projects are located } }, "authors": [ { "name": "NAME" // Name of Author } ], "minimum-stability": "stable" // Project stability }

Acknowledgement

The CodeIgniter team would like to thank EllisLab, all the contributors to the CodeIgniter project and you, the CodeIgniter user.
